Your favorite "little" receiver ever?

Marantz 2010 receiver.

My wife uses it to power a pair of early 70's ROR (Flushing, NY) studio monitors.

I absolutely love my 20wpc Pioneer sx 590 with the black tuner face, warm yellow lighting and polished knobs its as warm looking as it is sounding through a pair of AR 4X's.
 
Japanese made: PIONEER Sx-434, Sansui 2000A, SX424. Although the 2000A is 35WPC it's still small in the OP context of small.

I've had the 434 since new, and it's my go to little receiver for everything. The 424 is close, but the proprietary spkr plugs are a pita. Wish I still had my old 2000A. Had a bit more ooomph in all respects.

I spent the 1990's with a nice little Pioneer that I wish I still had.
Since then I've enjoyed Sony, Sherwood, Marantz, but was never happy with a Kenwood BPC.
 
Optimus SA-155 1.8 watts per channel into a pair of Minimus 7's. Still have it and still use it. Wish I had the TM-155 mini-tuner.
 
My Sherwood S-8600 from 1966. It was a little 20 wpc job but sounded sweet! I gave it away to my Son's old middle school principal. He gave us a set of 60's Deagan Vibes and is a big vintage stereo buff who used to play for Etta James. Taught my son a lot of really nice blues licks. So after I finally scored a Sherwood S-880 in a walnut cab I decided to give it to him.
 
To give you an idea what "small" could mean I made some pics of an unrestored SR-603 as already mentioned before. Manual says, that this receiver has incredible 2x30W RMS at 8Ohm. Weight: 5kg.
The tape is a small one...

I'd have to say a Marantz 2215 I bought new in the military paired with a set of smaller Advent speakers. I had to give it up but have never forgotten the smooth as silk feel and oh so sweet sound they made together. It got me started and it's been off and on over the years but I still have many a good memory of listening to it. Everyone always found a reason to stop by for a listen.
 
I've owned a Pioneer SX-424 and a Sansui 210. Both were really great but I would have to choose the 210 as the champ.

The best small receiver I've ever used - but never owned - would have to be the classic Advent 300. That was a quirky little jewel with 15 wpc of audio bliss.
 
I second the Deli's first post. I just sold mine to a friend because I have no need for it though. Very nice SA-80

My little garage duty Sansui Model 2000 is very sweet sounding. It replaced a H/K 330b.

This little Supercope had a very nice sound too. Kinda' sorry I let it go.

Out of everything I have owned it would be a toss up between a Pioneer SX-434 and a Fisher RS-1022. The 434 would probably win because of those beautiful blue lights :D
 
I don't own one, nor have I ever in actuality, seen one in the flesh.
But I would jump on one of these little guys if one ever crossed my path.
$300.00 MSRP in 1965, that's $50 cheaper than a 340-B? :yikes:

My favorite would have to be my 30wpc Yamaha CR-440, it just sounds so clean. I also have an old 22wpc JVC VR-5521, nowhere near as clean sounding, but it's built like a tank and refuses to stop working.
