Your favorite "little" receiver ever?

My favorite even though it isn't real "small" is the Harmon Kardon 330C.

Last night I hooked up a Kenwood KA-7100 (60wpc) to my JBL Decade 36s. Seems to be an extremely good match. It convinced me to recap the Kenny and fix it's matchig KT-7500. I was going to shop for another amp, but this does a beautiful job.

Fisher Integrated - CA-272

Fisher Integrated - CA-272. Despite no EQ bypass (boo!) it has even sound top to bottom. Seemingly extended highs. Nice linearity. No obvious colorization. Doesn't appear to strain with any 'normal' speakers I have. 75 wpc. Used discreet Toshiba-sourced power transistors, if I remember correct. Definitely not STKs - I've opened it up. Unfortunately one of the channels on my copy cuts out so I don't use it like I would otherwise. (I opened it to try and fix it) I might have to slowly trace through the signal path to figure out why... I figure if it's worth fixing with all the TOTL units I have then that says quite a bit.

Ferguson 3930 FTC Stereo Receiver, it looks a bit like a mid range Pioneer SX.

Apparently my 3930 is the only one worldwide, I don´t know why. If you like you may google and get pictures of my friend Armin (good old hifi) who restored the receiver some years ago.

One of my favorites is the Sansui 221 -an excellent sounding receiver with a very good tuner.

I've been searching and only found an AM tuner. It didn't have the green face. :dammit:

Back in 1989 I bought a mid-line Mid-Fi Sony Receiver.

It's really heavy and sounds unbelievably GREAT.

Don't know why, just does. It's a keeper!!

Runs, operates, and sounds like new.

Really nice sound. We have it connected to a guest bedroom system right now. We rarely use it. Both my older amps crashed out and I moved it to the living room temporarily until I could get a new amp. It stayed there for 10 months! It really does sound fine.

If 35 watts/ch is considered little, which I think is for solid state, then this is an easy one for me:

H/K 430
H/K 730

Nothing really even comes close that I have heard. And I have heard/owned a lot of different Yammies, Marantzes, Sansuis, Pioneers, Concepts, even McIntoshes. The H/Ks sound better to me by quite a ways. I'll be a fan for life. Someday, I'd like to have all the good twins in my collection- 430, 630, 730, 930. Literally, the only budget amps that sound as good as tube gear on my huge horn set ups. Sadly, I have none now- stupid me for selling them.
