There was a second annual record fair in my town Saturday so I went and spent too much.
12"s:
Queen - Day at the Races
Ornette Coleman - Free Jazz
Ella Fitzgerald - Mack the Knife: Ella In Berlin
Ella Fitzgerald - Live at Carnegie Hall
French Jazz
Odetta - Sometimes I Feel Like Cryin'
Roky Erickson - Don't Slander Me
Singles/EPs:
Billie Holiday - Lady Day, Vol 1 (it Stuff/No More/Baby, I Don't Cry Over You/I'll Look Around)
The Doors - Hello, I Love You/Love Street
The Doors - LA Woman/Roadhouse Blues
Queen - Somebody to Love/White Man
Cleaned them up Saturday. Thus far I have only listened to the Ornette Coleman, Mack the Knife: Ella in Berlin, Billie Holiday EP, and Day at the Races. I was surprised and pleased how clean the Ella in Berlin album sounded for being nearly 60 years old. And Lady Day is always fun. I was also intrigued as it was the first time I saw this (though I understand it might have been more common in the past):
Note: not my picture, but mine looks the same. The "built in" adapter that can be removed (though not put back). It also sounded pretty good and I am happy with it.
