Your Latest Additions (LP)......

I'd say you had a higher than average score. I'm lucky if I find a Streisand album sandwiched between five Ray Conniff albums.

Dylan's greatest hits vol 2 LP off ebay. Still waiting by the mailbox. When it gets here, "gonna fly down to the easy chair"

Today's thrift finds:

Marty Robbins' All-Time Greatest Hits
Joni Mitchell and the LA Express - Miles of Aisles
Robin Trower - Long Misty Days
Shawn Phillips - Collaboration

Not too shabby. Don't know much about any of these, but I guess I'll find out. Hope they play well.

My thrift store find today: Dire Straights Brother In Arms. Label says "Quiex II LImited Edition Pressing" - with the exception of some noise here and there - very good condition, and very dynamic recording.

It's also labeled "lent for promotional use only" - hehehe...

My weekly thrift:

Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle (includes Cars)
The Who - Tommy
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story
Jim Croce - I've Got A Name
Heart - Dog & Butterfly

All in very nice condition, probably all donated by the same person.
Total bill: $3.00

Mark The Mailman delivered Ry Cooder's "Jazz" yesterday...on tap for a clean & spin when I get home from work. $2.75 off the 'Bay...looks mighty fine.

Yeah, no ****...
I've never even seen a Rock/Blues/Jazz album in the TSs I've been to really.
It's usually all Xmas stuff, Andy Williams, or bad compilations.

Last night at a local record store I picked up
Neil Young - Old Ways
Miles Davis - Round About Midnight
Miles Davis - In Person Friday and Saturday Nights at the Blackhawk
Miles Davis and Tadd Dameron -The Miles Davis and Dameron Quartet in Paris - Festival International du Jazz, May 1949

And a Best Of Procol Harum

The trick to thrift record shopping is patience. The one I frequent most has the same 1500 pieces of garbage each week with the new ones mixed in. So, someone who stocks these mixes these in with the old ones so I have to sift each time. I've been a record scavenger for 35 years, so I'm pretty quick at going through them. Occasionally, it pays off.

Just flew down to visit my sister in San Diego over the weekend. Besides getting some sun, I asked her to take me to the flea market (Sports Arena) for LPs. 1-2 dollars ea.

Iron Butterfly - Ina-Gadda-Da-Vita... or however it's spelled. It was my father in laws favorite song, so my wife wanted it.

I got a near-ultimate score today, at the Chinese New Year unofficial poor-district flea market, which happens only three days out of the year, since these few holiday days are the one time in the year when the police/government authorities won't hassle/arrest people selling stuff along the street...

Yep, a near-ultimate LP score!

It was (cue drum roll)...

Sesame Street Fever, the Sesame Street take-off on the Saturday Night Fever LP!

It has a bilingual gold sticker on the front, which I think might have originally been on the (now-gone) shrink wrap(?), and it's the EMI Singapore/Malaysia/Hong Kong pressing, so it probably won't be as "audiophile" as the original US pressing, but then again, this one is probably rarer.

Eat your hearts out, guys!
:D

Let's see. Today I purchased some stuff from a CL contact...

Moody Blues - In Search of the Lost Chord (Brown DRAM label, nice copy)
Jethro Tull - Living in the Past (a little beat up)
Sniffin' the Tears - Fickle Heart
YES - The YES Album
Springsteen - Born in the USA
Billy Joel - 52nd Street
The Vapors - New Clear Days
Traffic - Low Spark (a nice one to replace my beat one)
Santana - Caravanserai
Rush - Moving Pictures
Dire Straits - S/T (Badly warped! And the only one I didn't really check over. A good reminder to always check every album!)

Paid 22 bucks for these. Also picked up a decent working NAD 3020--paid 100. Hopefully this will be an upgrade.

My lunch break meal consisted of:

2 double LP's

Marshall Tucker - Where We All Belong
Eat a Peach (Polydor original pressing)

Yummy
