You're gonna have to come up with a solution for that. Can't be an "Official" E'Waver without posting a pic!Wish I had a camera--you'd laugh.
Half the fun of E'Waving is seeing others' creations here.... :thmbsp:

Wouldn't you know I'd have a link? :tongue:Hey. Maybe I should take this other pair of Advent cabs & woofers and build up another complete pair. Then I can stack them & see how that sounds. It would have to be an improvement. Right?...
But, of COURSE!Anyone here use a pair of JBL L55s as a starting point? The ones I'm looking at have LE14As in them, which need a refoam.
I'm wondering if the cabinet front is big enough for the wave guide. Also, is this cabinet one of those that is too small for the LE14s, especially after the volume for the WG is taken out? I've read how the L99s are to small for LE14s, but I'm not sure if the L55s are too small - they might be 2.3 cu/ft inside and I don't know what LE14As really like to have.
and.....is cutting up a pair of L55s an unforgiveable sin?
But, of COURSE!

LHF is plastered with pics of my L55/LE14 bass bins, too. Tune to 30 Hz....
Heh. Gotta link for THAT one, too....Stacking them should work great. Flip both speakers on each side upside down. Discoonect the tweeter on the lower one. Now you have an MTM elevated off the floor a bit.![]()

I was kidding. "Stacked Advents (!)" are sort of a cheapskate audio urban legend. Some people say they sound great but they measure like crap that way. I've tried it and to my ear it just wasn't any good.
I have an unrestored pair of original Large Advents (beveled edge) here. They need woofer foam, obviously. I was going to restore and sell them, as they're in pristine condition. Looking at the prices that a mint pair bring these days (under $200) it's hardly worth the trouble. I'm considering those for the EWave treatment.
Another option is a pair of Powered Advent cabs (basically the NLA cab) that I think I can get my hands on cheaply.
OTOH, maybe my next EWave project should involve these LE10A woofers and L55 cabs.

I wish I had your cabinet selection!

Well, it's not as if you need more bass, now, is it?I was kidding. "Stacked Advents (!)" are sort of a cheapskate audio urban legend. Some people say they sound great but they measure like crap that way. I've tried it and to my ear it just wasn't any good.
Make it easy on yourself Dave,
Stack them Woofer to woofer, (bottoms together) leave there tweeters in there
disconnected then fit a waveguide in between in a small cab just to fit the guide.![]()
What's really cool is the E'Wave in the 0.38 cuft pre-finished PE cabs set horizontal atop upside-down L55s. :thmbsp:Stack them Woofer to woofer, (bottoms together) leave there tweeters in there disconnected then fit a waveguide in between in a small cab just to fit the guide.![]()
I know you were. I have a couple of pairs of advents I was considering making a new cabinet for and do an MTM EWG.
Seems that most people tend to prefer stacked advents to singletons. My guess is that the problems caused are offset by the increase in dynamics.

LOL! (By the way it's FISHER DAMMIT)
C'mon now, a couple a thin pieces of wood just for support? You can do it!
