No vents yet, but planning the garage add on that should also look familiar. Do you have dimensions on the additions you made?

14" x 14" x 11.75" the depth of S99 (confirm).

The top opening is 2" smaller all around, i.e., 10" x 7.5".

There's a 1/2" spacer between the base and the S99, 1/2" smaller all around, 13" x 10.75", and a 1.5" high footing, 1" smaller all around, 12" x 9.75".

There's probably a clever way to have the port on the bottom, using rails as the footer, or stubby legs like these, maybe, now common on floorstanders:

Thanks for all the support.I think I can pull it off with help
from you guys.I will contact Kegger for final design on
the crossovers.I plan to build new enclosures for the
horns and leave the hpm's intact while only having the
woofers hooked up.They are too nice to butcher and
I may find some hpm woofers later and build new cabs
for those or maybe something better will come along.

Horn Boxes,

For those using horns ontop/outside of the main cab and have contemplated
building or buying something, I suggest checking your local thrifts for a small
bookshelve pair of speakers, they are usually quite easy to come by, "cheap"
and usually not good for much else BUT recycling there cabs for use.

They generally look pretty decent and easy to hog out the front to mount a
waveguide in, make sure there deep enough or cut a hole in the back so the
magnet can poke out back, remember the cab does not need to be sealed.

Easier and cheaper than building the whole thing from scratch, this one took
me all of 20 minutes to mod and bolt the horn in it. (and the grill still works)

The PHT-416 fit easily into these ratty old things I had laying around, I think
they look pretty nice doing what there doing now.

Nice idea on the recycled boxes. I need to something similar to what you did on the midrange. I have a pristine NOS pair of 2123H I'd like to do some 3-way play with the 2235H and econowave I already have running. I'll be doing the 4430 clone next, really want to hear it compared to my 4647/Econowave.

I bought 2 pairs of those boards and I'm darned if I can find the other pair. If I gave the 'spare' pair to someone (Dennis?) please let me know so I can quit wasting time looking for them.

I have the Utility Large Advent Ewaves hooked up next to the Linn Isobariks ($$$) both running off of an Accuphase P-300 that I just finished rehabbing. Switching back and forth reveals far less difference than you would expect from the comparison between Linn's best pro monitor and an amateur DIY horn conversion. The Ewave is just absurdly good.

I have a mint pair of original bevel edged large Advents in the closet that I've been 'saving' for a rebuild. I'm sorely tempted to do a cost-no-object waveguide conversion on them with a better driver than the 210Ti. Hell, selling the tweeters out of those would probably fund the whole project.

I'm sure Zilch will weigh in, but for me the 2225 would be a better match for the
2123H with it's high sensitivity, then yah use the 2235H for your 4430 clone, :thmbsp:

I'm about to put my LE14A E-waves together and I'm wondering about the woofer polarity...

I've seen in a couple of places that some JBL woofers have the black terminal for the positive lead, is this the case for the LE14A?

Also, I thought it didn't matter as long as both woofer were wired the same?

That's the $14 JBL 8" square PT waveguide, same 90° x 50° dispersion and thread-on throat.

If you want to jump higher, use the $100 1.5" bolt-on throat version with BMS 4555, as I installed in KLH-6, a $500/pr. combo well outside the "Econo" appellation, but several members have built them successfully, now.... :thmbsp:

Yes, LE14 is JBL inverse polarity. You can easily verify that using a 1.5V battery.

It matters in that the woofer polarity must be reversed to conform with industry standard, important if you're using them with other speakers, as in a Home Theater setup.

A further note to LE14A E'Wave builders: It doesn't matter if the foilcal on the rear says 8 or 16 Ohms; they're all the same, 8 Ohms.

That's outside Zilchdom, actually, three-way. I've only ever built one.

Sir, what is the middle speaker in the Franken-Keg picture? Have you discussed this?
I do not yet have the waveguide and driver mounted- it is free-balling on top of the cab. I have noticed considerable vibration, and on the latest E/W-woofer configuration, the vibration was audible. A couple of questions to address this, if I may.
Did you add additional dampening to the re-cycled cab?
Did you secure the magnet within the cab?
Would it be necessary to isolate the waveguide cab from the woofer cab and/or firmly secure them together?
Also, what distances (acoustic centres?/physical alignment?) did you find the re-cycled cab/waveguide measured at, in relation to midwoofer, with your various projects? I can't determine from the photos. Was there a common distance, or did it vary with each project?

I was using a tweaked version of the E'Wave crossover, it says, which is in my notes. I'll get on finishing that up, as there is considerable interest in the project now.... :yes:
