Question about crossovers
I've been reading some of the discussion on the development of the Ewave passive crossover. It's difficult because it's spread out across MANY pages.
IIRC, the woofer's crossover point is intentionally set 'low' and due to its response the acoustic crossover is 1600 hz, assuming certain acoustic and electrical characteristics of the woofer.
My question involves bi-amping a 2-way ewave.
Assume the following:
Voltage source amplification - high DF and essentially no interaction with driver impedance.
12 db/octave Linkwitz
How low can the crossover point be set with the 'classic' PH612/D220TI combo and still achieve acceptable performance from the driver/WG combo, leaving out the driver's power handling/frequency concerns?
Q2: Same question with 18db/octave slope.
