Been listening to these for awhile, I mostly just have the TV on or watch movies...
With just these two on with the subs Id swear the center channel is on, I had to get up a few times just to check:yes:
Very wide "sound stage, image, dynamics, and all those other audiophile things"
So far I haven't been able to figure out if which of the two drivers I like better:scratch2:
The D2500Ti is warmer and smoother in the mid range and not as bright up top...
The D220Ti is brighter up top...
I tried the foam plug deally with both of em.
It seems to smooth out the D220Ti. On the D2500Ti it doesn't seem to do much but roll off the VHF more...
Every now and then I can hear what seems like a resonance with both. More so with the D2500Ti I don't have em mounted yet though.
I might get out the silly putty and play with damping the waveguides :nutz::drunk:

I compared the curves, and they are virtually identical insofar as frequency respsonse is concerned. The waveguide may alter that a bit, but it seems the increased sensitivity of the Nd version is the major difference on that score. They both use the same diaphragm.
However, look at the distortion curves; third harmonic is way further down on the Nd, so I ordered up a pair to see if the difference is apparent in how they sound.

Still waiting on certain parts to fully complete one of my projects so I decided to piece together what I had. Sounds pretty good for one speaker so far. I have it wired up for the high efficiency version (for my TAD driver) which this obviously is not. I have to turn the L-pad almost off to get it to balance out right. I'm pretty sure the standard version should work ok.
I will be ordering D220ti's for this one. It looks like the waveguide will fit perfectly in the cutout for the mid/tweeter baffle.

Don't bother with the ST 830s I had a few pairs a while ago :yuck:

They were bought BRAND NEW way back when... I have a sentimental attachment to em:scratch2:
I did at least stick a 2X4 brace, some Realistic dome mids/tweets/crossover and some R15 in there after they started rattling 24 years ago...

In the mean time 2 part epoxy is your friend untill the new one shows up.

As they break in you will dial in more high end. Try thr low efficiency version, its only a couple of resistors and a cap difference.

Denny, Like Russell mentioned, I would run them in for a spell without making changes to see if you can get more use of the L-pad as things settle in. Maybe even a week running all day. I have used mostly oil caps in my x-overs (what I happen to have the most of ) and I usually end up with little use of the l-pad initially but changes come.
Do you happen to have the sensitivity/efficiency specs for the woofer?

Thanks to Steve O2, two sets of Pyle PH612's are on their way from MCM. One set for my Barzilay's and the other set for my Fisher XP-10's.
I replaced the original tweeter with a soft dome and recapped the crossovers on the Fishers this summer. They sounded a little better than they did before but still not great. The nice thing about these is the mid and tweeter have their own baffle board so I won't have to modify the cabinets. I'm excited to see what they sound like when I'm finished with them. The bass is excellent. Everything else sucks. This may be the first Fisher econowave.
Anyone have any idea what the efficiency of the woofers might be? They are 15".

Sorry about the busted WG. Luckily repair will only affect it cosmetically.
I did wipe out a driver in a similar accident. I fumbled a D220Ti with the leads attached and when it fell the lead wire yanked the driver's connector tab hard enough to snap the VC wire. Usually I can repair that kind of stuff but not this one. A new diaphragm got me running again but I'm mostly careful now.

I had a near miss during my "Resistor heating up experiment" whereby a QSC and B&C DE 250 toppled part way over the edge and hung there. The wave guide barely grazed the 2235H leaving a tiny "mark" (unnoticeable) on one of the cones ridges. Could have been disasterous for both Woofer and wave guide. Foam double stick tape and a small piece of 2x2 prevent this now
