I think i'll try to unveil my ewave project in time to get ewave number 100. Not sure of the rules on which waveguides are allowed now.
 
thanx, fellers. i gotta say, it took a village...

review: very raw impressions, but...they do bass like mofo's-- throw some watts into 'em, like i am right now with a Phase Linear 400 and they get very BIG. i had been using some freshly rehabbed (thank ya dc270!) AR 2ax's, and those sounded terrific. i saw an article in brit mag HiFi News by Ken Kessler in which he referred to the 2ax as one of the best vintage speakers ever, on par with LS3/5a's, and some others i can't recall, but i got the gist of what he meant listening to those. anyone with an unrehabbed pair of 2ax's around should get with the program...

but these Ewaves are a different animal. bass and soundstage is massive and deep, the horns put the upper wavelengths into the room in a way i'm still getting used to- i'm gonna hafta mess w/ the trim pots some .... i have to say that Paul Stewart's genius baffle cuts are a big part of the final results...

Yep, I understand that, I was just wondering if they'd been used before and how they worked out. I have Ross's Woofer Tester in the hause and will run them through that tonight. Just like you, I have a number of projects going at once and was just looking for a quick reply...... Go/No Go type. When I do the next eWave, I will be following my new montra --- it must be art first and foremost.

If I can figure out how to capture the screen data, I'll post it here.
 
When those surround start to harden up again, do yourself a favor and refoam them!
I don't understand why people would want to use brake fluid or any chemical on collectable high-quality drivers that are WHITE.

I am REALLY interested by this whole DIY e'wave concept, and hopefully I will be able to try my hand at it before too long. I'd love to have a horn based speaker in my system and this seems like a great option.

Currently I'm in the midst of a move and I'll be away and abroad for work during the summer months (prime audio tinkering time). So it may be a while before I am able to start any actual work but I will definitely be reading/following this thread in preparation.

Zilch , how much of a difference is the D2500ti Nd from the D220ti? apart from weight and spl rating, does the D2500ti sound more smoother or dynamic than the 220ti?
