Well in true Ewave fashion, the wavers will be making a trip today!
We have one of our monthly audio meets out by ED\Squids place, he is bringing some
JBL L-100's with the xover's disconnected and wires ran to the woofer through a port
and I'm bringin the Wave tops with the xover in them to mate up with said JBL's, hope
we can get them in the rotation for a while an see how they wave on out, should work!

ok, i'm back from the stupid hillbilly fair and sober and at WORK now.
local fairs are such a rip off.....$4 for a kiddie ride. $8 for a god awful half cooked oily garbage.....:yuck: ended up spending more than what i spend at disneyland $$$.
anyways, i took a look at the chart & etc....and it looks like i should just double the inductance value and cut the cap value in half for 16 ohm woofer, right? tell me if i'm missing something. so L2 would be 3mh and c2 6 uf what about others? thanks.
Get your horns and crossovers together, and bring out the woofer leads to give it a try sitting on top. You don't have to cut into them to hear how they're gonna work, and whether you like them.
I can virtually guarantee you'll not ever have heard anything quite like them.... :thmbsp:

6 uF is not a standard value, so you can use 5.6 uF, or, if you want to be spot on, a pair of 3 uF or a 2.7 and 3.3 uF in parallel.
I lke the last approach, because you can vary the value in 0.3 uF (5 %) increments just by changing one of the caps, i.e., get 2.4 and 3.0 uF also to tweak with.... :yes:
Yup, that'll work.
Try closing the ports, too, to mitigate L100's boomy bass.
L88, the same woofer in the same box and with a removable tweeter block is an easy conversion, if y'all find you like them.

I can tell you it betters in many ways, the 511B which I always liked better than the 811B. The waveguide used here is more modern, more high fi, not as difuse as the 511B is. That said, it is exactly that quality that appeals to me with my A7s. Try it. See if you like it. Bear in mind that the ewave is, of course compensated for the JBL wave guide, and wouldnt be the same as the 811B. I compared using the crossover in my A7s, an eminence with dayton caps and compensation added. I just screwed a jbl 2425H on to the waveguide and hooked it up. No problem keeping up with 511B, even with compensation not designed for it.

Yes. The stupid $9.90 E'Wave is better in many respects, constant directivity being a major one.
811 beats it when it comes to imaginary gonadotrophic effect, however.
['Course 511 beats them both in that respect....
Thats what I'm trying to say!

i have high expectations for this plastic horn and the brazilian made driver.:thmbsp: i'm purely taking you guys' words for it.
How would it work with smaller woofers? like 10, 8, or even 6 inchers? has anyone tried it with speakers like AR 4x? or something like rogers monitor?

Will work fine, read the entire thread when time allows, just about everything has been contemplated and tried. I remember some 8 inchers discussed, I dont know about 6, but I wouldnt see why not, just follow the crossover choice for the drivers efficency, add zobel if necessary and tweek components to taste.
Just more tweeter efficency will be bled off to match the woofer/mid. I have some old boxes with a six incher in them Ive been eyeballing lately....
