A few years ago, I purchased a pair of CDM7 SE speakers at an estate sale, in very good condition. The small footprint tower format suits my main listening area well, and I really took a shine to the speakers, augmented with a powered sub.
Fast forward, I substituted a pair of KEF 103/3...
Looking at buying these speakers. Still fairly new to everything. The polks are cheaper, but the advents are refoamed and in great shape. I would greatly appreciate any advice or thoughts on these speakers! Thanks!
Friendly info for anyone shopping for Totem Tribes. A damaged set of Tribe towers making the rounds. I bought these, discovered the issues immediately upon unpacking and had quite a dispute to go thru.
Now the same speakers are being advertised yet again with undisclosed issues. So, posting...
Hey all!
I wanted to start a thread about Philharmonic Audio on Audiokarma.
Dennis Murphy, speaker designer and all around great guy showcased his monitors and towers at Capital Audio Fest. Dennis a/b demo’d the towers and the monitor. Both are great and sound very similar. The towers just...
Hey folks!
I have an old pair of Polk Audio RTi10 tower speakers that I got from my old landlord and are 10+ years old at this point. They are in pretty solid shape except for a blown tweeter, and one woofer that buzzes occasionally.
It also sounds like there is some kind of sand or debris...
Hi all,
My first post here! I have been lurking for many years though.
I inherited a pair of ESS AMT-1 Towers from my dad. Over the years he had an enormous speaker collection that was constantly in flux. Advent, Altec, JBL, Bozak, ESS, Bose, EPI, Ohm, AR, Sansui, Pioneer, Tannoy, Empire...
Hey all - pretty new around these streets, but I was hoping someone might know anything about a pair of old Marantz tower speakers that I have.
The label on the back says "SP 4112A", but Google-ing has lead me nowhere. I'm curious to know if these are at all of any "quality" and if so, where I...
A friend of mine has a really nice set of older Pioneer-branded floor speakers, and I tried to find the model number so I could find and purchase my own set. However, the sticker was removed on both of them. A reverse image search turned up nothing. I'm including a picture here with the hopes...
Which would you recommend buying, the Elac Debut B5 or the Infinity Alpa a50?
I realize these are two very different speakers, but I can't decide between the two. They are for sale used on CL for about $150, so no shipping charges.
They'd be used in a fairly small room for mostly turntable...
Just finished this walnut vinyl tower for a good friend of mine who first got me into vintage sound equipment. All walnut construction with oak thru dowel joinery. I had to add a birch backer because thin walnut plywood is impossible to find. I think it works. It was hard to gift it to him...
Hey all! I just got my refreshed m202's back and am digging them. I really love them. I also have some Epi 100's, Klipsch Quartets, and Infinity Monitor Jrs for comparison. All have been recapped and refoamed. I previously had the Quartets and 202's in my large living room but my wife - after...
So, for anyone who replied to my previous post about these speakers, I bought them! And got a Sony BPC surround receiver and DVD/CD player for free. When I first was testing them I didn't like how much treble there was, but using the switch to turn the tweeter down solved that. They aren't in as...
Tower speakers with Custom crossover design from Nedlabs of Oregon. Speakers are done in African Makor wood. Mid and Tweeters are MB quart. Woofers are Neodymium 8" from Aura .
I hand build each crossover from Schematic and use hand woven inductors, german Lynk resisitors, and Dayton/Solen...
The Martin Speakers USA 306 Tower in Dune
Inspired by my customer Steve Fradgley became my biggest accomplishment and one of the finest sounding loudspeakers I have ever heard. I never thought much of this design and to discover this was amazing to me. These, hands down would have been my...
