Hey guys, have been on a long road trying to get my HGS-18 to work properly. Got it used 4-5 years ago, got a new driver and servo which helped, but long story short. I want to make sure the driver is hooked up to the servo properly there's a lot of pins on that side and the sub still cannot...

Just finished an SPL10 repair for a friend, here are some notes.....
There's a decent video on YouTube that should help, biggest issue is a handful of 33uf caps buried in the power supply that go bad, high ESR readings.
Tear down is not easy.....

Just bought a used Velodyne DEQ 8R BG. Can not get any sound out of it. It comes on, remote seems to control volume and settings, but no sound at all.
Woofer tests at 6.2 ohms.
Fuse is fine.
Looked inside and nothing is obviously blown but I didn't test anything.
Tried speaker and line level...
Hello everyone, I have a rather specific inquiry regarding the Velodyne HGS 18. I bought the subwoofer a few months ago, but there are certain frequencies that make the sub bottom out, (even with gain at less than one) which should essentially not be happening. Because there are lower...
I am currently using a vintage Velodyne ULD-15 subwoofer from 1986 in my home theater setup.
More or less happy with it, although I suspect the 5-pin servo cable has a short in it somewhere.
The cable works well, but If it's moved, it sometimes causes the driver to pop, or worse - so I don't...
Hello fellow AKer's! I have a Velodyne Hgs 18 that has some unique behavior. It seems to bottom out at specific low frequencies, even at low volume. But can handle much lower notes even at much higher volume. Me and AudioFreak71 seem to think it may possibly be the servo. Regardless, there's an...
Hello All,
You may scoff but yes, I am still using a vintage Velodyne ULD-15 subwoofer from 1986 in my home theater setup.
Two years ago I refoamed the woofer, as the surround had deteriorated after not using it for many years.
This Velodyne definitely works fine and adds nice bass in my 12' x...
If you were going to buy one sub, used primarily for music, without auditioning both, would you go with the EMB-1000 or the Abyss?
I have beeen watching the local listings for an inexpensive used sub to ubgrade my Velodyne DLS-4000. I picked the Velodyne up for $70 about 1.5 years ago as I was...
Well, for me it was at least. I know this doesn’t compare to a number of other acquisition stories that I’ve seen around here.
So there I was, just calmly browsing on the local Craigslist seven minutes before the end of work on Thursday while waiting for a file to render before I had to go...
So my system, which is currently a macintosh mc-602, c-45, mr-85, mmf 5.3, dbx 14/10, modded pioneer elite pd-65, legacy focus 20/20 and a velodyne hgs 18. I am looking at selling the velodyne and buying two hsu research vtf-15h mk2 or i have a line on a used jl audio f113. The velodyne will...
