170DC 47uF decoupling caps

The proof of the restoring is in the listening.

I am working on a 170DC and I see the decoupling caps are only 47uF but rated for 63V (pretty close I'd say rails are -51V).

I wonder if there would be any risks by using larger 100uF/100V caps in this place?

Looks like those may be on the amp power rails, is that right? If so that increase is like spitting into the ocean, go for it.

Edit: The "ocean" being the main filter caps.

Thank you, Randy! Makes sense, and I think I've seen this done before on other amp boards.
 
Sure thing! To repeat myself from many other posts about main filter caps - I do not like to up the value as some do to values more than about 20% higher. Many disagree with me and that's fine too. But small local filter cap increases are usually harmless, especially if there is an incoming resistor like the 100 ohm on the phono preamp boards in units like the 2245/2270.
