I was thinking about you as I watched the game Pat, which was indeed a good one. With a third of the top twenty being Big East teams, neither of them looks like a contender, but both are solid teams, both coaching and players.

That said, either one of them would be a strong contender for 2nd place in the ACC this year, testimony to both Big East prominence, and ACC decline. Didn't think I'd see this in my lifetime, but there it is

Marquette invariably plays close, up tempo games that come down to the last possession. Sometimes I'd like a little less excitement and a bigger Marquette margin, but it rarely happens.

As for the ACC, I'm not sure they have a good team besides the Dookies. I was hopeful for the Hokies, but they probably won't get too far.

This year, I'm pinning my hopes on Georgetown (father's alma mater) and Marquette and hoping for a few good games from the Hokies.
 
St. John upsets Georgetown at home, with old Lou "The Sweater" Carnesecca in the stands looking on. Brings back some memories. Well done
 
I'm following Texas A&M. They beat Arkansas (10-2) & Washington (10-3), and their one loss was to BC (11-3). The season is young......................

yep, with Duke stumbling and losing to Florida State, Kansas should move up to the top ranking. I really thought Duke would run the table in the regular season....losing their superstar guard hurt them badly. I can't stand Duke anyway, hehe

Texas A&M is locking horns with Missouri at home right now, very good looking conference game between two tenacious teams. This is my first look at the Aggies, didn't know they were this good
 
wasn't even a little bit pretty...they barely held on against a mediocre team at home. Kansas is more consistent at showboating than any other single thing, and they are ripe for an upset. This might be just what they need, because if they don't start playing up to their tremendous talent potential, they'll get bounced early in the tournament.

Such good individual players, such poor team play. Hope they wake up
 
Friggin' Marquette lets an 18 point lead over Louisville get away from them with 6 minutes left. Damn. They spanked the snot out of the Irish last game.
 
yeah, they threw a solid beating on the Fighting Mackeral Snappers, then collapsed against Louisville today. Marquette is a dangerous team, but schizo too

Exactly. They have time to get it right, and, if they do, they're an odds on bet for the Final Four. A loss can be an excellent coaching tool for a team that's too high on itself, and the Big !2 is a good place to get brought back down to earth.

Just ask Frank Martin :lmao:

5:30 EST Kansas State (just fell off the polls for the first time in years) at #13 Missouri

7:30 EST #3 Syracuse at #5 Pitt

9:30 EST #2 Kansas at Baylor
 
The'cuse - Pitt game is going to be a great one. The orange are strong this year, but Pitt, at home? Let's just say I'm not going to get my hopes too high! Pitt has flexed some big muscles this year, any sort of fast paced transition heavy game is going to favor them...

Syracuse will be without their top scorer, forward Kris Joseph, and Pitt is very tough in the paint. Will still be a war, like always, though. Syracuse has a relentless transition game and likes it on the run, too
