Kansas State loses to the Aggies, falls to 1-4 in the Big 12, crazy

Too much Coreys! Ugh. Hate Villanova. Not as much as Georgetown but...

They really could have been in that game, just did not make the shots when it counted. They will be ranked what, 9 or 10 next week? Hopefully these losses will toughen them up for March.

Good crowd at the dome though.

Coach B will get them straight, its just plain brutal in the Big East, period. The conference topurnament will have more ranked teams playing in it than the Sweet 16

My 27 year old son is a HUGE Villanova fan and I am sure is very happy with their win today. He met their coach in Las Vegas (at the Adidas Big Time Tournament) when he was 19 and was invited to help with Villanova's Basketball Summer Camp. He saved his $ and went for 3 summers and got to help with camp and got to know the players and coaches. Pretty cool deal for a very young man.

It was only a matter of time before Kansas got beat. They haven't been playing good ball (by their standards) recently. As a Mizzou fan, their loss didn't upset me.

Looking forward to the Mizzou/ Iowa State game on the U this evening at 8pm.
 
I enjoy watching Missouri play more than any other team I've seen this season...love their coach and their style of play. the "40 minutes of hell" defense is so intense. It looks like they pick you up at your hotel room door and don't let up till you get back on the bus :lmao:

I read that the starting five has to do defensive drills 5 on 7, and 5 on 8 in practice. Only facing five players must look much more doable. The Illinois(who gave top ranked Ohio State all they wanted today, but lost)- Missouri game was epic.

On a day that they can turn their smothering defense into some points, they can play and stay with anybody

Kansas was plain outworked and outcoached today...if they played with the intensity of Missouri, they would be unstoppable. Time for Bill Self to earn his money. Last year Texas was a selfish team, but Rick Barnes has really turned them around. Good work

:dammit: I was at work today when they played but kept track on my IPhone. Stayed 3 hours longer than I needed to avoid going home.

All the Jawhawk fans I have ever known (and I have known several) have always been some of the most dedicated fans. They love their Jayhawk BB.

Mizzou really dominated Iowa State tonight at home. My concern is this young team needs to prove they can pull out tough wins on the road against quality teams. But with only 1 Senior this year, their future looks bright.

I too really enjoy the style of BB Missouri plays. Helter Skelter and lots and lots of action on both ends. Playing 10 players for Coach Anderson means relentless basketball for 40 minutes. It is going to be fun to see how the rest of the season plays out. Barring injury and staying focused, they could be a scary team come tournament time.

I had hopes that Tony Mitchell would be eligible this 2nd semester. He was the #2 ranked player in the country out of HS this year. Kansas State's coach caused some trouble for Mitchell and Mizzou when Mitchell withdrew his commitment from KState and signed with Mizzou. When he withdrew his commitment, he also changed high schools from a private (affiliated with KStates head coach) in Florida to a high school in Dallas. Apparently Mitchell didn't get credit for some classes taken in Florida, which was instigated by the KState head coach. I am sure if Mitchell would have kept his commitment to KState, those classes would have been fine and he would have been playing all year for KState.

I watched the 2nd half of the Florida State game today and their defense looked awesome. They rotate their zone faster than any team I have seen.
 
Despite Cal's cursing, the boys showed a good effort today.....maybe getting their attention is the key.

that kid Calipari chewed out had it coming, and he was playing just like what he called him, ignoring the coaches and his teammates. If some cocky, snotnosed, millionaire in waiting kid thinks he's bigger and better than the team, it's probably because so many people have been blowing smoke up his ass way too long, and profanity is appropriate. It ain't daycare. As you said, I bet it got his and all his teammates attention.
 
When I came home last night, my husband told me that KU Player Thomas Robinson's mother passed away this week. He tried to play in the game last night. In the last month he has lost both grandparents and now his mother had a heart attack at the age of 38.

As another friend of ours said - puts a game of basketball in perspective.

I heard about that 75Center. I am sure that has been devastating for the young man and have some effect on the team as a whole. I admire his desire to play, as I am sure he was playing for his mom. Better games ahead I am sure.
 
Seton Hall up by 21 points on Syracuse with 12 minutes to go, at the Carrier Dome? Seriously? :scratch2:

Seton Hall makes the margin hold, and win by 22. That's three losses in a row for the Orange, all conference games, and they go from first to seventh in Big East play. Wow

Marquette, very tough at home this year, is up by 5 points on UConn with ten minutes to go. Certainly smelling like another Big East upset
 
It would appear that Ohio State is a smidge better than my Boilermakers. It sucks being almost good enough for prime time every year.

Yep, OSU is a juggernaut when hittin' on all eight, and they are tonight. Even having Hummell probably wouldn't be enough tonight
