2010-11 College Basketball

The stumbling Purdue Boilermakers are facing the hated Hoosiers tonight. C'mon guys, you've got to win this one.

maybe the home cooking will agree with them a bit better tonight, but they need to learn how to win on the road in the next month or its lights out early this year
 
St Johns went into tonights game at MSG against UConn ranked 11th in the Big East, and unranked in the national polls. They proceeded to rout UConn, adding another top ten team to their list of 2011 MSG conquests, which includes Georgetown, Notre Dame, and Duke as well. All four of these teams are virtual locks for top two or three regional seeds in March. Rutgers, 12th in conference upended tenth ranked Villanova last night, and appear to be on quite an upward trend.

The Big East should and probably will place 11 teams in the NCAA tournament, maybe more if the upset dominos fall just right. I've never seen anything like it.
 
Syracuse and Kentucky lose again today, and top ranked, undefeated Ohio State is in a good tussle at Wisconsin right now
 
Louisville is obviously a VERY good team. Great game, even though I did not care for the outcome. Still it was fun to see Jimmy B. totally flip out near the end there. God I love that guy.

Hoping Wisconsin can knock off Ohio State--like rooting for the underdog even though I hate both teams, being wed to a Michigan State alum...

Kinda flipping back and forth cause it's a blast to watch Bill Murray play golf down at Pebble Beach. Someday I am going to go check that tourney out in person.
 
and down goes Ohio State, great game, Wisconsin is badass. Texas up to number one this week, Rick Barnes has really turned them around after sucking last year
 
This season certainly shows the parity that exists in college BB.Vandy can shoot the lights out in their house.
 
ok, new polls out today have Kansas ranked #1, even though Texas beat them in heads up play recently, and is in 1st place in the conference, and Kansas in 2nd.:scratch2:

I'm much more of a Kansas fan than Texas, but how is this fair? I'm just glad there's a playoff to solve this and other matters, unlike the BCS BS. March is coming:yes:

hehe, what can ya do..I thought KU would drive the final nail in K State's coffin for this season, and they got their asses kicked. Thye reverted to the complacent form of a month ago, and K State played far better, using teamwork. Kansas didn't deserve the top ranking anyway, so justice is served.

You can't be up for every single game. They were off tonight, I don't know why. But Saturday is coming and hopefully it will be better.
 
Maryland basketball: Stick a fork in them, they're done

After losing ACC road game to Boston College and Virginia Tech, Maryland is now 5-6 in the ACC and 16-10 overall.
Unless Maryland turns into the Boston Celtics and sweeps the ACC tournament, it kinda looks like......"Hello NIT!"

Even though my Hokies whupped the Terps twice, it's still not clear to me that they'll get a ticket to the dance either. Maybe the Terps or Hokies will have a good ACC tournament. There's no great team in the conference, so either has a shot ..... maybe.
 
#10 Wisconsin at #11 Purdue and #9 Georgetown at #12 UConn, on right now...bruning remote batteries big time..final 16 grade hoops in mid Feb, sweet

I was wondering if you'f finally give your boys a little love after this one..you've been unusually hard on them this year, considering their current conference and national rankings. They took out a formidable Wisconsin team tonight, and are playing their best when it counts, as March approaches.

UConn reverted to form and defeated a resurgent Georgetown team, much to my surprise. I was looking for them to continue their decline, and the Hoyas to stay on the upswing. What an amazing season thus far
