Thanks for posting. Your AU-70 was built on production line 9 in January of 1965. It was the 1,383 unit off that line that month. Line 9 was also building AU-111s that month. Being 60 years old, it's not surprising that it needs some attention.

Here are the results of the August batch:
704 serial numbers posted resulting in 668 newly added serial numbers which included 11 new added models.

These two fell out:
SC-110,247100088,petesui I couldn't find an SC-110 model. Is it actually a SC-1100?

T-M90,664108163,kleinanzeigen I couldn't find an T-M90 model. Is it an A-M90?

2 out of 704 serial numbers is pretty good.

@LBPete: trash the T-M90 number please. I can't find the kleinanzeigen-ad anymore. Pretty sure it was a A-M90 plus tuner combo (in the week I added both in my posting: An A-M90 and a T-M90), but maybe I got the tuner wrong and it was a T-M70. But I can't prove this anymore as the ad is gone.

I guess my post #3.965 with the serials from Monday 1st of September hasn't been included in your August run ?
EDIT: downloaded the new PDF, and I was too late with post 3.965

Yes Pete, and no relay down under. Sadly, the script on the display glass wiped off as I was cleaning it. Any hints or ideas on how to replace or restore it short of buying a replacement glass or a parts unit would be appreciated.

That is always a disaster. There are ways to print on glass. You will have to recreate the artwork. Scan what is remaining of the print on the glass and go from there. Once the artwork is done you can go find a printer. I had paint flaking off a dial plate from a tube radio (Philips BX732A) and had it printed at a professional company via an intermediary. Note that you must flip the image because you print the inside of the glass. The fun part is that you can leave easter eggs (hint: it's a station in Norway, hint2: its frequency was 630 kHz):

The first 9090 was built on production line 82 in August '76. It was the 2,588th unit off that line that month.
The second one was built on line 81 in September '76. It was the 742nd unit off that line that month.
During this time period lines 81 and 82 were dedicated to almost exclusively building 9090/8080 variants.

Based on what we have in the database, Line 24 only built CA-2000s that month. So to some degree they are all sequential. Newly posted 2461000207 fills the gap between 206 and 208 creating a three unit sequence.

TU-9900 848030188 does create a two unit sequence. Considering that we have only 3 TU-9900s built on that line that month it's pretty extraordinary they both showed up.

We have 121 CA-3000s in the database. Scanning through those serial numbers I don't see any true sequential numbers. There are several that skip a number like the CA-2000 discussed above. It would only take a well placed new serial number to create a three unit sequence. There are several months with high TU-9900 production.

I can run simple queries like this if you have other questions or observations.

On a different note, I'm thinking of creating a Sansui Model Report that will list all 1600+ models on file. It's not that hard to do but I'm afraid it might open a can of worms with disagreement over models and model names. What do you guys think?
