Many sales go unpaid so auction sales mean nothing, buy it now is a different story but still may have been sold at a reduced price

I am, I have been doing audio (vintage and new) and collector cars pretty much my whole life. My pops is into both and it rubbed off on me :thumbsup:

Sold a Kenwood KA-3500 yesterday for $100 (offer accepted) with a Kenwood digital tuner, it took 5 months to sell not 1 offer at $150 it was mintScreenshot_20220413-054739.png
It's not all in demand everywhere, at least not around me!

I didn't say that but there's many factors that keep things from reappearing after a non payment

There are some that are said to be sealed in the box new, I wonder how many times those are not true, I'm sure it happens and appearance is definitely a huge factor

Wonder how many home receivers he has collected, I don't think you can compare cars from the 60s and 70s to receivers, it a completely different thing and I'm willing to bet that most guys (given unlimited funds) will be thinking about what old car they would buy over what old receiver they would buy.

I can understand if you have a bad back or some such not wanting or being able too. The trick is to grab it in the middle with one hand so the weight is in a central location and lift with your entire body if possible so you don't strain or pull something. I had a 5 way bypass done in February of last year so lost a good bit of strength due to that but had no issue doing just that with a Bose 1801 amp a few months ago pretty sure there close to the same weight.

The receiver was relisted after previously having been sold to a non paying buyer who supposedly didn't realize the condition of "local pickup only". Second time it was declared sold and hasn't reappeared since. So called "monster" receivers selling at $10K or greater really isn't news anymore.

That ~ $20Kish SX-1980 was unlike any I've ever seen. Even the box was like new. Story given it was owned by a doctor who was evidently some kind of equipment junkie who kept it in a closet since new after having opened it once. If factory sealed unbroken one can only imagine what it would have sold for.
