Personally my Speakers etc are not hooked up to internet files. In fact over the past year I have installed a HH Scott 222c integrated amp newly recapped and retubed and a Kuzma Stabi s turntable with a SoundSmith the voice cartridge Mono and a NOS Signet mk10cl stereo cartridge and my ADS L520's are loving it all the way.Been without my main system for almost 5 years now. I had my granddaughter in the house and had to take all the sloppy wires off the floor. Anyway she is now living in the downstairs apartment so I am getting my speakers back on line real soon. I have been exploring many new kinds of music lately and wanted to share a new form with an old instrument. I have been smitten by modular synthesis lately, it sounds so good coming out of the ADS domes. Crisp clean transients that clean the wax right our of your ears LOL
I have learned so much from so many posters on here, and wanted to share this channel with all. Especially GD70. I hope you enjoy the sound out of the ADS speakers you own.
LRL - any idea how that Scott (which I would love to have) would work with L810’s?[/QUOTE
Its mainly about efficiency as the L520' are 92db what are the L810 model? The amp is only 18-20 watts however I opted for the primo Russian NOS military communications OP tubes and they are capable of 26 watts so I biased the amp at 25ma per tube and it is more than enough in my room of 12x17 feet. I have the ADS 1500 powered sub and C1500 Bass system control but have yet to hook in this amp because its a bit complicated but I know it would put some ease on the L520's if I did.
(yep, not the sharpest tool in the shed). The result is a whitish smear that rubbing compound nor polish would take off. It almost looks like a thick slab of ABS to me...or is it merely smooth particle board? I was thinking wet sand 400 grit 600 finish. What do you think? That’s really interesting. Fun to play with the music this way.Been without my main system for almost 5 years now. I had my granddaughter in the house and had to take all the sloppy wires off the floor. Just bumped into a pair of CM5s from Directed Electronics. Never saw a pair of any model with their name on the back. Had to share it with the ADS community. Weird to me!
Back around 2000 I purchased some new generation ADS home theatre speakers, three HT-400s (center and rear surrounds). They were a very impressive speakers, the drivers were high quality and the cabinets were extruded aluminum. I really enjoyed those speakers and my brother uses them to this day.
At that time Directed Electronics owned or distributed the ADS brand. I reached out to them for a horizontal cradle for the center channel and they went over and above the call of duty to get me this rare item. Marvelous customer service and great speakers for their purpose!
I don’t ever hear folks talk about these SAT7’s. I just can’t get over how good they sound. I find them much more dynamic then my brothers 1290’s.
Awesome, thank you! I had another version but it was missing several of the pages. This is gold!
Thanks for the heads up on this. I’ll give it a listen! Cheers!Been without my main system for almost 5 years now.
