I really enjoy listening to records with this rig.

Yep, those are the 4425's big brother, JBL 4430s powered by the McIntosh MC-2205 amp (200 WPC), paired with a Cary-AE AE-3 MkII tube Preamp/Project TubeBox SE II phono preamp/Rega P3 turntable w/ a Benz Ace phono cartridge /Sansui TU-717 tuner / DacMagic DAC / Carver CDP.

awesome set up, I remember when I was in college for audio tech, they had a set of those stashed upstairs with rotted surrounds, I knew what they were, but never asked about them, hmmm wonder if they are still there...

I could put many hours in on that system, and I'm sure there would be a couple records I could be happy with. The tuna could satisfy me all by itself.

Yes, that subwoofer is part of the Phase Linear Andromeda speaker system, and not in the main system with the JBLs. It's in use for the ~5% of the time that I listen to the Andromedas which are stashed in the corner with the Carver Amazings, behind the right speaker and record shelf.

That was the Good, now for the Bad & Ugly ...a desk in an unfinished corner of the basement that isn't covered in crapstacks.

Altec Valencias with a Lafayette 250A tube integrated amp (sitting ontop of a Sansui 9090/Carver TX-11 tuner) + Grant Fidelity TubeDAC 09 w/ lossless digital from the laptop.

Wow! If I had ever managed to amass that many records, I'd probably still be a vinyl fan...and that systems looks as if it could turn me into one again. Nice.

Does having a wall of records on the right vs just a wall on the left affect the sound?
