Do the salt guns work on wasps, or do they just get pissed off?
Nice Blue Ribbon on that rifle.Had some time to sling some lead down range today. Breezy so wind doping going on. 80 yards. Beeman R10 Hunnington Beach in .177 with a period Beeman SS2 3x scope. Shooting at a 6" clapper style firebell turned on it's side - about as big as a small ground squirrel sitting up - 2" x 6". Only hit about 50% but still fun.View attachment 2170299
Thx. I have an R1 with a Blue Ribbon 66R 2x -7x as well. Made by Haako. They had nice optics for their time.Nice Blue Ribbon on that rifle.
Any other pearls of wisdom you would like to share with us at this time?...Salt for ammo?
You know they are animals, right? They are also pollinators.
Shoot at the feral cats instead.

I've never, ever been stung by a bumble bee. Just about every other stinging critter tho. Bumbles will fly in and check you out but then they'll peel off when the realize you're not food. I think they're cool. Ferel cats or even house cats out hunting?? I won't shoot them but they are indiscriminate killers of songbirds. Some people who let their cats roam say they're just being cats. True, but if you're feeding them, they don't need to kill - they just enjoy it.Salt for ammo?

We have bumblebees that insist on knocking on the window, asking to get in.
Over, and over, and over again. Worse than moths bouncing off a 100 watt bulb at night.
And my latest toy is a Crosman 1377. No setup or adjustment and I can hit a 4" plate at 75 feet freehand. Fun! I'd love to have a PCP rifle but that's an investment I can;t really justify. I'd rather have more "decent" toys than one or two expensive toys.
Out to ten feet...! I see those in the stores and almost buy one every time. Ten feet... that's good range.Yep, and it actually works great out to about 10'
If a person can hit it that seems to be the effective range for house flies. Bigger or hard bugs you need to be a little closer.Out to ten feet...! I see those in the stores and almost buy one every time. Ten feet... that's good range.
That's really good, far better than I thought. I'd like to see a battery operated model... little gear train driven pump kind of thing. In the mean time though I'm going to get one as is and upgrade if they do... fly and other flying pests are about in season. If a person can hit it that seems to be the effective range for house flies. Yep... it’s used against the various biting flies we have in the swamp, also wasps and hornets.I could never imagine myself shooting at a Bubble bee.
The tiny house has wood siding. The ones that don’t find there way into the traps I made usually get a good salting when we are sitting out on the deck.I live in a log house, popular to carpenter/borer bees. A salt shooter might be fun!![]()
