Only slightly, not worth fretting about. They'll play a little lower than the standard Indignias, actually:

Early on, Ray, I believe it was, observed that our woofers would play better in 0.5 cuft, but we wanted to keep them "diminutive" like Insignias. Certainly, nobody who's built them is complaing about a lack of bass, but you can tell us how your larger boxes work in this regard.... :yes:
 
Russell, I believe the high end focal line was the Audiom lineup. Those are a good deal nicer than the dayton parts. :yes:
 
Yes, I believe that is it. They were big heavy driver, more pro sound than their other offerings at the time, which were quite nice as well.

Is there anyone here with the skills to make up an Indignia badge?

I hated to bring this up, cuz Ray is gonna suggest that I might be responsible since I mentioned it first, but really....

It would be cool to have a badge that we could have made up at a trophy shop or whatever. Just bring in the artwork and have our own serial numbers included.

I wonder if AK would endorse using the logo.....

We need a logo nameplate for the front, and a serial# plate for the rear, actually. I'm sure there are some skilled artists among the AK membership; maybe one will work something up for us. There are at least a dozen more pair of Indignias in process, so the effort would be worthwhile. :thmbsp:

[BTW, S/N 9 & 10 are reserved for that certain member from Houston who has yet to show us his second unit completed.... ;) ]

I can help with the design. Let me know what kinda budget, materials, size, colors and information. Hard plastic decals, embossing, metal, etc.

Carl, I think the best bet would be something cheap, inexpensive, and very low cost. Maybe even ultra affordable if you can work it in. with a very highend look. :)
 
Self-adhesive foilcal for the rear label, I'd say. Serial numbers may be typed on permanently, as it "embosses" them. There's still typewriters, no?

Front logo plate, I don't know. Outfits are always sending me lit and samples. Maybe if I didn't trash them all the time, there'd be some here.... ;)

The fact is we haven't even completed the 1st... need to redo the front baffle. Been too busy on other projects.
 
I had a chance to listen to these speakers at ZilchLab yesterday. Wow was I impressed with how much bass these small speakers put out. They really sounded nice and were very smooth on the HF's as well. And you can't beat the price. The cabs Zilch is using are really nice looking as well.
 
For those of you who don't visit the EconoWave thread, the tutorial on etching your own PC boards has been posted. It has even been made a sticky, and can be found on the Speaker Forum Reference Threads.

It works for Indignia crossovers, as well as EconoWave.
 
Jack says in his tutorial that he may be able to supply film positives for those who want to etch their own Indignia crossover circuit boards. Anyone who wants to take advantage of that offer should just send him a PM.

That's beautiful work, Zilch.

Thank goodness there are no pics of mine. As I recall they pretty much resemble a bowl of pasta.

But, they are done and they work.
 
AK member Robie came over yesterday with his Indignia speakers.

We hooked them up to the Pilot EL84 tube amp and listened to some jazz.

These little guys are sweet.

Very well balanced, amazing range and they just sound good. :thmbsp:
