Led Zepellin's - In Through the Out Door.

The outer sleeve was a plain paper bag. The inner jacket was mono chromatic and in six different versions. Once wetted with water, the jacket would turn into color.

The jacket had six different versions of the same front and back photo. The line art on the inner sleeve is what turned into color when it was wetted.

Any linen-covered/tipped-title sheet boxed set from Archiv Produktion.

I have an RCA Shaded Dog classical disc in a linen-covered jacket from a very short-lived high-end record line they put out in the late 50s.

Yep.. had that of happened today, the band and label would have all probably ended up in prison and on an "offender" list the rest of their lives... Different times...

Gentle Giant / In a Glass House

The cover has a clear piece of plastic which has seperate images of the band members in ink playing an instrument which sits atop another image of them on the inside sleeve jacket. Creates like a out of whack 3 d image. Great prog music by the way.

Elvis Costello has pulled some neat tricks.

Original copies of 'This Year's Model' had fake misaligned printing, and original copies of 'Get Happy!' have fake ringwear, but in the wrong place.

The original UK cover of 'Armed Forces' opens up in multiple flaps and contained pictures of the band members on cards of the same size, that looked like they were bits of the cover that had fallen off. You can fold the 6 flaps in various ways to get different back covers.

Not a cover per se, but my original 45 of "Strawberry Letter 23" by the Brothers Johnson still has a faint strawberry aroma 30-odd years later. Quite potent when it was new.

The album cover and back was designed using an anamorphic projection that distorted the facial features of the band members but which looks correct when viewed from the side through special pinholes in the lyric sheet.
