I'd get another feline in a heart beat, being a Siamese liking person, but having a feline kept in the house 24/7? It just doesn't go down right with me.
The Siam I had before was with us for the better part of 19 years...they do last a long time! With that loss when his time came to an end, it was much like losing one of our family. He was my cat. Most of this breed are more like a dog, and gravitate to just the one person. Guess this one chose me.
I know many in the neighbourhood do keep theirs inside, but it just seems so unfair, esp if one has a dog that is in and out all the time. Being in a rural type area before I had no problem having the cat go out, not to say there are inherent probs in doing this, but having the cat wistfully/continually looking out seems so sad. But, the wanting of a cat as a pet over rides this feeling of restricted keeping indoors?...I guess you just go with it, eh?
Stirred the pot this day, I know. Dogs on the other hand require more attention, but cats need love/attention too.
