Audiogon fails to impress

From a web design/development standpoint... it sucks big time, in just about every aspect. If I navigate in a certain way, every subsequent link and search is an error.

Epic fail.

Agreed.Whichever company that devised this system effectively torpedoed the site.

The owners of A'gon would have good case to sue the IT firm, who would probably file for bankruptcy and duck the consequences of their incompetence.

Audiogon fails to impress??

I'm deeply unimpressed with new system at Audiogon. I'm saddened as member that my fees have paid for this "improvement". I really hope that they simply drop this system and return to business as usual. The old system was simple and effective. The new one is over complicated, the search function stinks and returns irrelivent info. I feel like my arms been cut off.

EXACTLY!! And it makes me pretty angry.

This thread might as well be "Audiogon continues to suck!":thumbsdn:

I agree now. I have a lot of pieces to go up that I need to sell now as I found my Holy Grail of amps and need to clean house. It is so flawed right now I am bummed and afraid to use it.
.....
This is lame and I need to make some dough...but I guess I will have to wait to April to post.

i suggest becoming an AK subscriber and use the Barter Town forum.

Considering how bad it is and how many people are complaining I wonder why they don't just go back to the old format? I use to go their all the time and browse thru looking for good stuff, now I don't even bother.

No new listings in the brands I am interested in since they blew the site up... really sad.

Dear Audiogon, whoever you are…..

Dear Audiogon, whoever you are…..

Your so-called “new and improved features” are much less than the minimum standard we individual Audiogon advertisers/buyers have come to expect. Your blogs, promises and excuses are patronizing. It is obvious your interests far outweigh those of your customers’ and end-users’. You may be able to offer short-term solutions but I fear you have lost many long-term loyalists. It will never be the same for me. Your mis-steps have given me a chance to pause, catch my breath and learn to accept my existing audio equipment. Now, I want a new, pre-owned $40,000 Lexus. Screw the new and improved audio system. Thanks for stubbing your toe. My wife says it’s the best thing that ever happened to her and our checkbook.

Good luck, whoever you are….

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the "old" Audiogon. This new thing is completely unrecognizeable and an absolute nightmare to use, so I don't bother. It appears as though they are no longer accepting comments in the "blog" section as well, since I haven't seen any new posts in a number of days. Maybe the people learned and just gave up, since the folks at Audiogon clearly do not get it.

Either it's cleaning up a bit or I'm growing used to it the new way, kind of like getting used to a new Microsoft Office Suite.

a new Microsoft Office Suite.

There's another 'upgrade' that had me asking, "Why???" It has been way more trouble than it was worth. In fact, I don't know anyone in my office who's been able to do anything faster or better with it. Quite the contrary. :dunno:

Well ... hopefully it brings more people and sales etc to AK ... :thmbsp:

I've been doing real well here selling my album archives.

There seems to be a certain price level on gear here, not very many higher end items like you see on Agon. I'm guessing 200-300 is the max. Is it just me that thinks that way?

I'm late to this thread but I finally had a look at the new A-gon.

Most definitely a step back into the 20th century...1990's to be more specific.

Seems like you can't do a search in any of the music categories. Key in Pink Floyd or Beatles. No results.

And to think some IT clowns and/or company got paid for doing this. "Nice work fellas, we'll give you a bonus for hosing it."
