B-2X question

tunz

Man in Motion
I have two Yamaha B-2X amplifiers that can not be bridged. Can I safely feed an out of phase signal from a Yamaha C-80 to each of the B-2X while using 4 ohm speakers? I have read that the B-2X are 2 ohm stable?

tunz,
I'm pretty sure you can bridge it that way, but with a pair of 4 ohm speakers you'd be pushing it to the limits. I don't know if I'd recommend it and I definitely wouldn't push it very hard in that setup. By the way, I just replaced the original 22000 uf @ 80 v capacitors on the power supplies in my B-2X with some nichicon's. It made a big difference on the sound both on base response and imaging. If you don't need the extra watts, I'd try that first with your 4 ohm speakers. Good luck!
