B&K 507 remote sr10.1 whats wrong here.

I recently bought this B&K 507.It came with remote which operates the choice of function but for the life of me will not operate the volume.Is it a programmable issue of do you think the remote is bad?

The remote must have something wrong with it, maybe something spilled on that button?. I've had the 507s2 and hitting the volume button just did It's job up or down no tricks or programming.

I'd rather have your problem than mine.All I need it for is the volume.So it is a bad remote you think?

It's not a bad remote at all, however I didn't use mine, I put all my remotes away so they stay nice and I use a Harmony remote, it controls all my gear and they can be had for pretty cheap now a days.

You should be able to open up the remote fairly easy and check the inside of the volume connection to see if something is wrong there.

I picked up a Harmony remote for 30 bucks and it replaces all the remote controls. Very handy

We sold B&K for a while. When they worked they did an admiral job. The stereo units were dependable, as were the multi channel amplifiers. But the multichannel receivers all failed eventually. I think is was caused by to high of ambient temps in side the unit. So once you get the unit operating correctly keep the unit cool. Wont the front controls operate the volume? If they will its the remote. If they don't, good luck!

Yes the front controls will operate the volume.I just like having the remote do so.I may look into my Yamaha remote if it can program to the B&K.I am not very HT programming remote saavy.Thanks.
