Here's some taken in 1958 with a Brownie Hawkeye.

We were eleven years old and survived zinc dust and sulphur. We ignited the rocket fuel with wire borrowed form a toaster and a 45 volt battery borrowed from the phone company. My invention.

Test shot Ilford HP5 400 ASA B&W. Shot using my Canon A2e and EF 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 zoom lens. Developed in Ilfosol 3 @ 1 to 9 solution for 6 minutes 30 sec.

Reminds me of the movie "October Sky", which was a pretty good movie! It was based on true events that happened in a W. Va. coal town.

I would hope so. But I believe the Rocket Boys started when they were 15 or 16, and had a machine shop at their disposal.

We were 12 and had no adult help.
