Best subwoofers?your favorites

I’ve only checked pa sub drivers on parts Express that’s probably why I think they don’t go too low . I forgot about port tubing supposedly you can go as low as you require .
Pro subwoofers are capable of some serious powerfully output .

The ones we use for ultra low bass (down to 25Hz) are 6th order bandpass subs, which can manipulate the F3 rolloff point and efficiency, more than other types of enclosures.

The vents inside the enclosure, are slots that are the full width of the cabinet, and at least one of them is over 2 feet (!) long, inside the cabinet. That's how it's tuned that low...

I like both of my Cambridge Sound Works PSW1. Wasn’t able to find the passive slave 12” but found another powered 2nd generation 8”. The acoustic suspension sounds great to me. I have no other experience however.

I think the first gen at least was a Kloss design.

I'm rockin' two Pioneer SW-8mk2 subs in dual mono mode. Using DSP to cross them over at 55hz. While they are spec'd to play down to only 38hz, I find them tight, fast and musical in my near-field setup.

Used jbl 4645.HUGE,takes up the space of an easy chair.But man it does the job,and generally inexpensive used.If it's good enough for a theater,it's good enough for my house.

Thought it would be fun to revisit this thread. So currently I have an old Mirage sub that I use with my soundbar to watch TV, then I also have a Def Tech Supercube 6000 for my man cave to listen to 2.1 music and occasionally work as a fill-in sub with my Golden Ear Triton III towers.

I recently purchased an vintage SVS PB12 plus for a good deal to work as a temporary sub for my Klipsch LSI splits, I will work with my MiniDSP to integrate the SVS, which should prove to be fun.

The SVS is a temporary solution while I await the build of a pair of THTLP subs using a pair of new Dayton Audio RSS390HF-4 - 15" drivers.

I believe that the THTLP subs should prove to be a good approach to matching with the LSI for a reasonable amount of money compared to manufactured high end subs. We will see what the final outcome is.
