Best subwoofers?your favorites

Goes dn to 23 KH, lower than most bigger units

Not a knock against the B&W that 23 KH point is at -6db, the other is 20lbs got to be one of the lightest home subs I've
run across. I own a tiny Velodyne that I think is 56 lbs.

I don’t think either are an upgrade on my stereo integrity 15” here’s another pic of my current sub , I have a small 10” klh but it think it’s from when the brands quality went to nothing .
Running both subs but klh is not always on, si ht 15” does all the heavy lifting .
Dayton subs look exactly like my klh.
So mine looks low end !

My stereo integrity is nicer but lacking in the wattage department.
It’s only 600wrms or something.
Driven by a 500wrms bash plate amplifier.
Wish I could find a cheap mic to verify its output and hertz it goes down to.
And it’s decibels at lower herTz??! Sealed 4.5-5 46F2B42C-6AA3-49F5-958A-7A6AF8856B32.jpeg cu foot behemoth
Tc sounds had a nice one but price tag was huge and parts express no longer sells it .

Any other favorite subs anyone would like to share?

Hsu looks. Nice but woofer dose not look as robust as my current sub woofer.

Duel subs

Would I be better off removing the klh from my bedroom system. ??!! One sub possibly better itself .

Remember that the word sub means below, meaning below human hearing which is 20hz or so. Subwoofers that are -6db down at above 20hz are not subwoofers, just woofers.

Yeah that’s true and lots of brands sell woofers as subs , and people buy them very often .
Klipsch subs are often ported to the extent they drop off around 25hz or so and lack low bass.
How do you get an affordable mic to measure bass output. That would help me a lot unseeing how low my stereo integrity is going !!
I probably cannot get anything bigger then it u til I move out of parents house it’s already so loud .
So only little subs capable of going as low as my 15” would add to my low end . Or lower herTz , there’s a fan sub but I don’t got $5-15 grand for one .

Get yourself a Umik-1 microphone from Mini DSP ($75). It comes with an individual calibration file. The file works with REW (Room Equalization Wizard). REW is a free download.

I was going to mention my SVS SB12-NSD as my favorite, but I'm not even sure it's a subwoofer anymore. ;) The specs show all it'll do is 23-270 Hz ±3dB. I see reviews stating that it'll go down to 21Hz at -6dB.
Honestly, I've seen the term subwoofer defined as 'below woofer' vs 'below possible human hearing'. I take that to mean that it's a speaker that handles frequencies below what the woofer can produce in a meaningful quantity. I don't see too many other drivers with a defined frequency qualification. If a driver goes up to 15KHz, is it a tweeter, since the human hearing range is 20Hz-20KHz? This isn't meant to be disagreeable, but I'm curious about the 20Hz definition of a subwoofer and have not been able to find one, other than 'frequencies below the woofer'.

The best sub I've ever owned, and I think it's the best sub I've ever heard. I run it at around 1% of its rated power, it can do bass as much as you want.... seriously effortles and limitless. I'd love two if I ever find another one used again. but til then.

plays really nice as the right side subwoofer in my main system matched against the above JL on the right.
(for true hi fidelity listening, you need stereo subs, I don't care what anyone says.)

M&K dual push/pull 12" sub. I'd love the new ken kreisel version of this, but it's $$$$$$

and as I said in the other thread, the def tech supercube III is one hell of an amazing sub, especially since it's tiny and only has 7 1/2" driver with dual passives. in smaller rooms, it's all you'll need.

Why did they discontinue fathom ?
Do they make any home theater subs that loook like this

That Cerwin Vega barely makes it to 37hz, they play games with the specs too, notice the 44hz limit spec listed, so another words it's a hell of a mid-bass cabinet.
So professional audio subs are essentially big boomy mid basses ? What garbage is that what drunks in the club love ?

Yeah, all those hot girls, and hot guys (whichever you prefer) love that - don't you wish you had one of those subs? :naughty:
I mean mid bass is we’re the booming , is at and when your drunk that’s all that matters in a bar. And the storm troopers waiting to prey on safe happy drivers .:whip::beerchug:

PA speakers are fantastic for their intended purpose, with lots of efficiency, and for no more travel that the woofers have, thump your body pretty good. But subwoofers they are not which is what this thread is about. Most music is completely void of anything below 35hz, so this is completely above the frequency range of a subwoofer.
