Came across a "new in box" BIC 1000 R-1 Remote Control. Unfortunately I do not own the 1000 turntable.

Welcome.
BIC made both the R-1 wired remote and wireless R-2 remote. The R-2 came with a receiver which could be placed anywhere from right at the table to about 6 feet away.
I have one R-2 transmitter and two receivers.
Looks like you will have to buy a 1000 to go with the remote.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if anyone in this forum would have any need for this remote. Without the turntable, I have no use for it.
