Blocking members...

Yes, I know folks, my fruitless battle against wrong harman kardon spelling in this forum has become a damn running gag for you... :gigglemad :gigglemad :gigglemad

I should set wrong harman kardon spelling on my ignore list...

:D

I STILL have NO Idea why ANYONE would NOT want to block and/or "Ignore" me.. In nearly 48000 posts, I think MAYBE 2 or 3 of mine MIGHT have but a TENUOUS connection to something marginally related to "Audio".. Most often, they are little more than the tedious ruminations of a 2nd rate psychotic misanthrope, with dangerous delusions of grandiose Godhood..

3 more posts to go sandy.can you hit 48k today ?:D

The few times I considered putting somebody on "block" or "ignore" they got banned before I got a chance, and then I felt an inexplicable sense of loss ...

I couldn't ignore/block anyone as it just seems a little childish... If certain posts irritate you that much then simply don't reply.

You almost have me talked into it.

I have to say, this has been my most popular thread on AK to date! You guys really do care.... :pity:

Well yes, but I have very occasionally run up against the pesky AK poster of the "Visa card" variety -- you know, he's every where you want to be. Of course, these guys are so ubiquitous (and prolific) when they turn up that if you were to block them, you'd be left with no threads to read so I guess that wouldn't really be a solution anyway. Fortunately, as I said before, they usually seem to burn themselves out or get banned in fairly short order.

Completely off topic, but, luvvinvinyl.... That's a fine lookin' dog in your avatar. Looks like our Daisy (who we got from a rescue kennel last December), a beagle / rat terrier mix (I've actually seen them called ragles). Quiet like a beagle and mellow like a terrier.... hahahahahah.... smart as a whip, fer shur.

Actually, Nikki, our rescue from Georgia, is a Fox Terrier mix, all 55 pounds of her. She looks like a small dog, in her pictures, but is anything but.

There are certain people that have deliberately antagonized me in ways that are not likely to get them in trouble with the mods. One such individual is someone that I tried to help a couple of times. He never responded to me, but responded to other posters offering similar advice. I figured he didn't like me and had me on his ignore list. Okay, no problem. Then, he made mention of the fact that he had never put anyone on his ignore list, but was doing so with a person he'd had a dispute with. Okay, he sees my posts, doesn't like me, whatever. Shortly after having the dispute with the other guy, he changed his sig to one designed to antagonize me. So, we have an individual who is ungrateful, spiteful and has an unsightly avatar. I can't think of any more mature way to deal with someone like him, but to put him on my ignore list. I just don't have time for his childish nonsense. So, I am certainly grateful for the ignore list on the rare occasions that warrant it.

I'd be humiliated if I were blocked...would I know? I mean, I hate being the last poster on a thread....:blah:

I don't have you blocked, but if anyone does, don't let it bother you. I'm pretty sure that I am on at least a few people's ignore lists. Oh well.

If you try to send someone a PM who has you blocked, I'd imagine the message won't go through.

I didn't mean to offend you, Christoph, just having fun.
I respect your sense of "rightness" !

I have never been in a situation such as you describe, I can see that if I was, the ignore list would be a good solution to the issue. Thanks for posting that, it has given me a new perspective on this issue. :thmbsp:

So, all kidding aside, the ignore list seems to be a necessary tool. Sorry to hear about this ugly trouble, Superjazzy.
