Boston Acoustics

I know there is a Boston Acoustics fan or two around here. What is your opinion of this as a center speaker?

I used to have the full Lynnfield VR system with the VR14 C/C speaker and it was a great system. The only reason I sold the system is because I went to work for a rep firm and we sell other brands. I thought it best to own what I sold! haha. But they are great speakers.

The VR10 (5.25" woofer, 5.25" passive radiator, 3" mid, 1" dome tweeter) is a kick-butt center channel. It was replaced by the more recent VR-MC (primary difference only being the more "deluxe" cabinet with cherry woodgrain veneer), which for a smaller center, had some SERIOUS horsepower.

Should work with a wide variety of speakers. Especially with Advents, KLH, Boston, EPI, Genesis and the like... but, we've even used them with Tannoys and such, and they held their own...

Thats all I own are Boston Acoustics. I have a VR12 for my center instead of the VR10 though. I have a pair of VR40's for my fronts & a pair of VRMX for my rears. For my sub I have a Sunfire True EQ Signiture.
I really do like my speakers but after I got my Denon 3805 they seem to be week at loud volumes. Which in fact has made my amp clip on occassions. I was told that they are not a full 8 ohms but probably alot lower therefore causing the clipping. Hell I even have a Denon POA2200 bi-amped to my fronts via the 3805 and it still would clip. But they are truely nice sounding speakers especially in 5 channel stereo. I have yet to determine what is making them clip but I think they are excellant speakers and the VR12 is probably the best center out there.
It has the same drivers as the Vr40's. Which is a 3 way center, with a midrange mind you.
If I had the cash to do all over again, I'd probably go B&W :thmbsp:

I love BA. If my ole NS-1000's ever bite the dust, they'll be replaced with BA's. You can still find old A-70/100/150's at flea markets for good prices.
