The 300 series covers a large number of Bozaks, some quite wonderful. The full size ones provide a very large portion of what makes the full size Bozaks so special -- relaxed, natural, warm and extended tone and dynamics, with realistic perspective.
The Tempo series, which is more normal bookshelf size, is less appealing -- the box is too small for the infinite baffle woofer, and to the degree that they go deep, they don't sound so relaxed. But the drivers are fine, and you could either enjoy them for what they are, or move the drivers to a larger enclosure (though they mass loaded some of the later Tempo woofers and so might be problematic -- they have a black coating on the woofer cone).
300 is not a steal for the lower end models, but also is not a bad price, maybe even good (I think), for a three way version and above.
But tastes matter, and they may be too soft for you if you listen to rock and roll mostly. Or maybe not -- I loved them on most music.

They would be B300. Two way variant with no midrange and no crossovers. There is a high pass in the tweeter circuit but thats the extent of the crossover. Bozak sold in a modular fashion. You could easily upgrade a B300 to a nice B302 simply by purchasing their crossover and mids. The holes for the midranges are already there for you. You just remove the blank and install the mid. THe crossover is simple to install as well.
The four legs makes me think they could be urban cabinets. B300 came in many cabinet styles. I like my Bozaks very much. I started with B300 urbans. Waited a while and when come crossovers and midrange drivers showed up at a good price I upgraded to B302. Be sure to get the later series aluminum cone mids. Check the tweeters on your prospective speakers and verify that they have the more desireable aluminum tweeters. You are paying top dollar for those so verify that you do not need to further spend money upgrading tweeters.
Once in its 302 form bozaks are terrific. The b300 is good but once you hear it as it was designed its a whole new game. Once you get up and running to a 302 then look at the Tobin mods. Take a look at the bozak yahoo group and you will learn plenty.

I have a pair of Bozak B302a - I love 'em to pieces! I upgraded/modified the crossovers about a month ago - they sounded great before, but are now even better. If you pick these speakers up, make sure and search AK - there are many Bozak related threads. Also, as suggested, join the Yahoo!Bozak group.

Thats what most Bozaks are,end tables with grills.Very nice speakers depending on musical tastes and power source.I use mine powered by a Yamaha ca1010 amp and playing 50s and 60s jazz on vinyl. For that purpose I don't have anything better.

They are definitely big furniture and the sound is not for everyone - fair enough. Stick to your guns.
