Calling All Yamahas. Time to Post Your Pics

Check eBay. Any of the receiver remotes should work all the functions. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the power on/off function on the one I had. Not a big deal to me. You can probably find one for $10 or less. Last remote I bought from Yamaha was $44.

That's a good suggestion too, thanks. I'd really rather not pay that much for a remote if I don't have to. I'll see what i can dig up on ebay.

T-1

Here's a shot of my T-1. I'm not much into radio as there isn't a whole lot of stuff I like to listen to around here but this is one nice little tuner.

You might change your mind if you get a good antenna. Start with the Radio Shack or Channelmaster 6-element FM specific yagi (which I use - easy to find stations here by the big cities) for ~$25, all the way up to the big APS antenna which is 13' long (which might be the best option for you) and costs $279, last I looked. Putting up as high as you can get with a rotator will also help a great deal. Good FM is excellent. I'm listening to our local jazz station it is terrific. Get to hear lots of music I don't own.

My contribution

I've had several Yamaha pieces over the years. I can honestly say, that I've never had a Yamaha unit, however small, that was cheaply made. Every Yamaha that I've ever had was nicely built and a quality piece. And, I've never had a Yamaha that didn't sound nice.
Here are the three Yamaha's that are keepers.
The big CR-3020 which is impressing the heck out of me.
CA-2010 and CT-1010. What a sweet sounding duo!

Not the best of photos, but from top left to bottom right:

Yamaha A-1
Yamaha CT-1010

Yamaha T-1
Yamaha A-1
Sony DVD Player atop Yamaha C-2x
Yamaha B-2

Other Yamahas not shown! Glenn (B-2) ought to recognize a couple of these!

Have a B&O TX-2 TT, but looking for another...the current TT is with yet another Yamaha, my original CA-810...singing sweetly in the Living Room.

Nice job! Think I know the middle left and bottom right.

So, Walker.......when are we making that C-2x/NS-1000M deal? :D

Nice Glenn! Keep trying! I am still thinking about your speakers!

I gave up waiting for Yamaha Canada to email me back regarding availabllitity of a remote for my soon to be arriving CX 1000U preamp so i called them instead. Should have done that in the first place. At any rate, the remote for said preamp will cost me $62.85 + $3.00 for shipping + GST and PST. :wtf:

I'll probably wind up paying it too if I like the pre... :sigh:

Think I've posted this once before, but have forgotten where. Other Yamaha remotes work just fine with the CX-1000. I think EW may still have the one I sent him, but don't recall the model number. The only thing it would not do that the original remote will do is turn the preamp on/off. It does everything else. I think any of the older receiver remotes from Yamaha will do this. And, they will allow you to select the inputs. For $10 on eBay, it is worth a shot. Perhaps EW will see this post and give us the model number. Or, you can PM him and ask. Then post for everyone.

I have a remote for my CX 630 preamp and it will work but it won't have all the features that i'd want. I'm going to scrounge around and see what else I can come up with, maybe even hit a few pawns, they usually have a box full of miscelaneous remotes. Still though, it would be really nice to have the original.
