Calling All Yamahas. Time to Post Your Pics

And here's the CA-2010 with my beat up T-760 (but I till like the way it looks in its simplicity and green display).

I was wondering how that series of tuners looked with the 1010/2010 - now I know. Looks nice!

Well it is a beginning, next is the T-2 then T-4.... :D

I am not a collector, just a listener. So I think I can rest with the T-1.

But thanks for the thought. My previous wishlist was a CT-1000. I used to sell them and I own a scope that will display multipath.

Yes, but the next might just sound a bit better.... :smoke:

Nice reading here: http://www.fmtunerinfo.com/yamaha.html

Nice link.

But. . . the CT series was released previous to 1978 (not concurrent), by 4 or 5 years. Sorry they didn't get their facts straight.

Sorry to complain, I am an engineer, and facts should be correct even when posted on the internet.

That is one of the drawbacks of using the internet as a reference, and I do it too! Anyone can post.

Yes, you are right.
It is a little messy with the year. Normal Yamaha uses the last 2 digits in the naming to detain the year/series.
When I am trying to gather info; the year of release is always a problem.

You are misreading/misunderstanding. The TIC info states..."The T-1 and T-2 debuted in 1978 when Yamaha started to sell separate pre and power amps. They were concurrent with the CT series that were styled to match the integrated amps.", all of which is accurate (I am also an engineer :D ). The T-1/-2 did come out in 1978 when the CT series were still being made. Thus, the T-1/-2 were concurrent (at the same time) with the CT series. This statement says nothing about when the CT series came out. Only that the T-1/-2 were made at the same time. If you go on down the page a bit to the individual CT tuners you will notice that the introduction dates for each is listed. The CT series began in 1974 (CT-7000 & CT-800). Based on the info I have, all of these dates are correct.

Yes, I "read" concurrent as meaning that the start and stop dates are the same. Webster says it means either "operating at the same time" or "running parallel."

The manufacture dates overlap (at the same time) but they are don't have the same start/end dates (parallel). Webster will bear both of us out. Unfortunatley, English is an inexact language. "At the same time" could mean the same start stop dates or a minor overlap. We are both screwed!

Sorry if I offended! There aren't many EEs with fine arts degrees too (Psychology). Most engineers are virtual verbal cripples, it is as pervasive as left handedness.

My current CA-1010, with a Sony ST-J75 tuner. I hauled the three legged beast* out this afternoon (a rainy day and the boys had a nap AND the wife is out...an alignment of the stars...) and finally put in new lamps and adjusted the bias in AB and A mode. DC offset dropped from the high 50s to 11mV and 23mV.

*(It came with only 3 feet, but the with the front right foot removed the weight of the transformer holds it upright with no problem!)

3rd pic is with a Pioneer SA9800 on top, just to get a size perspective......

Realizing that I am picking nits, parallel lines can have much different starting and ending points.

packrat - Nice set up. :thmbsp: I have spent many hours listening to my recently recapped/aligned ST-J75 over the past couple of weeks and it is simply the best FM tuner I've owned, to date. Beats the sound of my recapped/aligned ST-5000FW  , which really surprised me.

Wonder if we got our CA-integrateds from the same person with a foot fetish? :D Mine, too, came with only three feet.

newly acquired CR-600 (top) and CR-800 (bottom). Can't say enough about how good they are, and under valued IMHO. Thanks to redd6054 for the CR-600 trade!

Thanks to Merrylander for edumacating us all on these fine receivers!

It is intuitively obvious to the most casual observer that you need a CA-1000 to make your life complete. :D Nice set!

Yes, a CR-1000 would be nice, but that'll be a lot harder to do than getting these were!
