Calling All Yamahas. Time to Post Your Pics

his big brother was nice and better than the T1 a nice find:banana:

That is one sweet looking tuner. I've always loved the soft green glow of the Yammies. Friend had a CT-7000. Very elegant and sounded dead on.

Since I was taking pics, I do remember someone requesting some nudes of the MX-2000, so here they are. Heatsinks (?) are a bit dusty so I am in the process of cleaning it up right now. Those things are ridiculous in size.

enjoy!

Wow!! And I thought the BX-1 used a lot of copper. That sucker should be very quiet, if nothing else. Most impressive. Are you able to see what filter caps those are? In the B-2 they used big Nichicon caps. Am wondering if they still did ten years later.

oldmarantz - Yes, indeed. Both the T-1 and the T-2 are nice. Espcially the T-2. Just sent mine out for a recap (Black Gate), alignment and new power cord. Work is being done by Mark Wilson at the Absolute Sound Labs. He is going to do some measurements with and without the balun to see which provides the best sonics from a distortion standpoint. I was going to do the CT-7000 first, but was able to do some 'horse-trading' to get the T-2 done. Should have a full report by the end of the winter.

Hi B-2 comment vas tu ;-)

The T2 is a very good tuner, I had got too this little CA-410 found in on the curve:yes: and my old friend ca-1010 for more than 20 years (my first real amp!)

How about the same nudies of your TX-2000?

Glenn: I closed up the beast before i saw your request, so I don't recall what filter caps it's using. I'll be doing some more fine-tuning coming in the next couple of days and I'll be taking some nudes of the Tuner while I'm at it. Just running a little late right now to a dinner appointment. I'll update shortly. Thanks for all the support everyone :D

rhiohki Nice, nice and nice. That TX-2000 looks like it was never out of the box!
And the MX-2000... That is just... ahhh... I have to look once more :)

Yes, we demand naked pictures of the TX-2000 as well :D

B-2; in the M-85 and B-2x they used Nichicon caps, they are mid/late 80's as well as the MX-2000. So I think they are Nichicon's.

MX-2000: Never saw an amplifier with such a serious shielding.

What an impressive piece of engineering !
Does it sound as good as it is looking ?

I know the MX-10000 internally only from the service manual (I take a look into the SM prior buying a unit :) ).

The circuitry of the MX-10000 is really overcomplicated, even much more than the B-1, but nevertheless ingenious.

Take a look into a contemporary Krell, Bryston or McIntosh and at the latest you see the schematics of these, you start laughing ... most of them look like a heavy metal low tech dinosaur :thumbsdn: in comparison to the MX-10000 or even the MX-2000 ...

MX-10000 in all it's glory

This is a link to the holy grail of all Yammies. Enjoy the pictures, unless you can read Japanese. I haven't tried to translate is via Alta Vista Babelfish. If you care to try, copy this URL, then go to Babelfish and paste it in appropriate box, select the right language "from xxxxx to xxxxxxx" in the drop down menu, and click on translate. Most times it doesn't do a great job. The pictures are great though. Enjoy!

Here it is: http://k-nisi.hp.infoseek.co.jp/mx-10000.html

Here are the MX10000's siblings and other interesting pictures:

Amazing stuff

Most of the public doesn't even realize to what lengths Yamaha went to to produce the finest pieces of audio gear that ever existed. What is more amazing is that quite a bit of that technology and build quality trickled down into all it's vintage gear. I can't tell you how many times I've mentioned Yamaha Vintage gear to people that will automatically dismiss it as jap- junk. They don't even have a friggin' CLUE!

Less exotic, but it's mine

Here is my small collection of Vintage Yamaha. MX1000u, M80, M65,M35, C70, GE60 EQ. Excuse the dust, I'm in the process of setting up a triamped JBL/Yammy system. Should have the JBL DSC260 today and I'll put the spit shine on the gear...

The real crap is inside of those people´s heads ...

Most of them will never realize, how badly they are still influenced by the late 70ies "Jap is Crap" propaganda wars, even 30 years later ...

Yep!

Agreed:yes:

At least it keeps the prices down a bit because they don't know and garage sale finds flowing. One AK member just got a free pair of NS1000xs's!!!
