E.H. Scott Co. made ultra High-Fidelity radios BEFORE there was "High-Fidelity". They had HUGE tube counts, & often as not, a record-cutting device was integral. The cabinets were custom made to the owners' specs. An E.H. Scott Radio COULD cost upwards of $10K in the mid-1930s, which is why few were sold, & fewer remain. This might have been the receiver section of one of those radios-You'd need the power amp to make it complete. I have an 800-B set, one of their more modest efforts, from 1947-48.

"scort" was prolly the Philistine/Neanderthal seller's way of spelling "Scott"...Stuff like this has an unfortunate habit of ending up in the hands of knuckle-dragging types who have little or no appreciation of what it is. If it had been INTACT, w/the cabinet, It COULD easily have netted him/her/it a cool $1000. A lot of these Scotts were made in onesies/twosies. Their distinguishing feature was that the chassis were chrome-plated, & an absolute DELIGHT to look at, w/their legion of tubes glowing brightly against a background of gleaming chrome...

If you look at the top of the listing it states that the listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available. Translation: He got a very nice offer and sold the item outside of ebay.
