Agree w/this. If you want to experience/feel warm AND fuzzy, snag yourself a vintage tube, Scott integrated. They have “that” characteristic you are yearning for! IME/O.

I stayed in an airbnb a while back with a pretty basic marantz amp and table(not sure which) and some advent speakers. The sound I heard out of that system was magical to me, like a warm hug for my ear holes. After that I had to build my own system. I posted a few questions on Audio Karma, did a lot of research and ended up with a pretty kickass setup....but it doesn't sound like that warm hug I wanted. I tried to get ahold of the airbnb to ask about the setup but can't get in contact. Maybe you guys can give me some advice based on what I have now as to what I need to replace to get the warm sound I want.

Sansui 7070

Mitsubishi LT-20

MMC 20CL

ADS L520's

What kind of inter connects and speaker wire are you using? Cardas imparts a warm sound to a system,they roll off the hi frequencies of your system the way tube equipment.does. Buy used. The same with 1st generation Monster cable,the M1 would be a good place to start.

Get him a Sansui 4000 or 5000 in top condition, there's his warm sound (with plenty detail).

4000 is the best sounding amp i have encountered. I bought my brother a 5000 as a result.

Not the amp currently in my rotation but my ST-70 reproduces female vocals "to die for". It's a keeper and I'm very proud of the restoration job.

System Synergy is the key. Listening room, speakers and the power to drive your speakers.

Can't go wrong with an ST-70. It's a classic EL34 tube amp.

IME ADS speakers are not at all warm and border on strident. Many audiophiles consider much early SS gear to be harsh sounding, pick it carefully.

Buy yourself a set of suspension speakers like these with 8 inch drivers which frequently sell for about $99. Then get an entry-level receiver and turn the bass control all the way up and run that receiver on the direct mode. Lastly, purchase a cheap turntable and play some half dirty, semi warped records, I think you will achieve the warmth and sound that I had circa 1974 with a pioneer receiver, and a set of small Advent speakers. It was magic

I guess I'm trying to figure out where the loose link in the chain is. Is Sansui 7070 considered warm? Like if I get different speakers will that fix the issue? Or does the problem lie more in the amp?

The speakers ...not a weak link, but it was the Advent sound that you were hearing ..
Get some Advents ..

Lacking Advents..
Move what you have around to different positions in the room ..
And make sure that the room has lots of soft materials in it ... rugs .. drapes.. wall hangings ..soft furniture .. etc.
The room, the room, the room .. It has a big impact on what you're hearing ..

We have a decent sounding room, which got a lot better when we added pleated blinds to the corner picture windows and drapes to the patio door. The Advents are a nice size for it; large enough to mean the business, but not overwhelmingly so. Ours are in good shape and the grills still look fresh, even though they're from 1976. Pulling the listening couch away from the back wall helped the bass response.
