Changing Ohm Tap for Mac 4100?

hi guys, I see that there are two options 4ohm and 8ohm taps for the Mac 4100 but how do you change or select them?

C=common or black wire, red goes to 4 or 8 ohm tap. If you have a pair of 6 ohm speakers, you may have to try each to figure out which one sounds better.

I guess I’m not seeing how to do that. The back of the receiver has 3x sets of speaker inputs marked C (as you noted) but red only has L and R? I’ve read somewhere you might need to get inside the unit to change something?

Oops! Sorry, your saying taps made me think of the block connectors on my mc2205. I had a MAC1900 that had a switch to go from 8 to 4 ohms. I also had one without a switch. I imagine the 4100 is similar. Look on the back panel for a 2 position switch.

There are no switches or changes that can be made. The amplifier is direct coupled and is rated for 4 or 8 ohms. When using 4 ohm speakers, the rated power output is 100 WPC. When using 8 ohm speakers, the rated power is 75 WPC.
