Commercials You Hate

The AT&T phone commercial shaming the guy for bringing in an old phone as a trade-in.

They are trying to subliminally influence you to get a new phone every three months instead of every six months, like most people seem to do now.

Yeah, as someone who was little when Good Times was originally on, that one hits me. And it hits me over and over again every night at work.

Drug commercials that ruin songs are on my list, too (looking at you, "oh, oh, oh, Ozempic"). People from pharmaceutical companies must be fun on Scrabble nights: "Look at these 7 tiles I just drew: KNUQAXY." "Yes! That's the PERFECT name for our new anti-inflammatory! You're gonna lose tonight's game but hey, you gave us a brilliant new trademark."

So that's how they choose names for those drugs.

Makes complete sense!

...and the one that supposed to help stop involuntary body movements...

...that one of the side effects is ...

...involuntary body movements...

...that may become permanent!

Not quite a s good as the anti-depressants that can cause suicidal thoughts and actions.

Why even market anything like that?

Jimmy Kimmel suggested Frozac and Encantix for parents burned out on their kids repeatedly re-running the movies.

What's worse, the vaccine or the disease? SHINGRIX - side effects may include injection site soreness or an increase chance of Guillain-Barré syndrome. OK, Guillain-Barré is a lot more frightening that shingles. You can loose your ability to walk, and it can last for years.

I'd be looking at the percentages then.

It's probably low. I'm sure they don't publish this type of information. I would have to compare my chances of having shingles with the non-life threatening symptoms to a life threatening, life changing side effect. I think I'll take my chances and err on the side of the lessor of two evils. Edit the vaccine only has 80% efficacy.

"Tell your doctor if you've ever had hepatitis B or an organ transplant".

WHAT?

If my doctor doesn't know I've had an organ transplant.........

It really makes me wonder how much of your premium goes to fund all the advertising for companies like Geico, Progressive and Liberty Mutual. Really starting to miss those Allsate commercials with Dennis Haysbert.
