Cool American military planes.

"Bitchin' Betty" - the voice in the F/A-18 hornet

Back in 1981-82 I worked as an engineering tech summer hire at Pax River NAS and got to sit in the cockpit of the F/A-18 to work some avionics for E/W testing - and with the all the systems active, I would hear Bitchin' Betty's voice for some of the warnings.

I just now saw this video and now I know who's voice I was hearing! So cool!

Why not? Seriously, it was a lot of fun. I made only 131 jumps (there are jumpers who have made 1,000's), but I enjoyed every last one.

The jump out of the Twin Beech (civilian C-45) culminated in a 9-man snowflake over potato fields in PA. We had the star together by 6,000 feet and rode it down to 3,500 feet where we broke up and tracked to our spots to pull our ripcord. I have a 1976 red, white, and blue Star Crest Recipient (SCR) patch, created for the bicentennial. Good times.
