I gotta agree. As a former SAC "Trained Killer" I still look upon the B-52 with fondness and reverence. Here's one from the base and bomb wing where I was stationed:

We still make many spares for those at work. F18's, A-10's, B1B's, B52's. Lots of spares to keep all those bad boys going.

The BUFF.
An aircraft that is going to have a service life of nigh on a century when it's all said and done.

First flight of the prototype was in 1952 and the last airframes are scheduled for service into the 2050s.

Was on I-75 one day in early winter 1982, coming home from Louisville, Ky, had my Brand-new 6.2 Diesel K20 Suburban,, & a Bongo -52-actually 3 of 'em flew over the Interstate, & I thought "Hell.Yeah ! "America, Dammittall."...

U2 I was stationed here at Beale AFB Unfortunately I watched a pilot die, plane went up, engine died right after, pilot try to restart and save it and ejected head first into the ground in a spin downward. I was patrolling this exact area and watched the whole thing, it sucked
