Agreed. Hollywood needs to stop ruining existing franchises just because they can't come up with anything original.

Really!?...I swear I will go cry in a corner if that's true, I love that series. Wasn't there already a great movie of it?...I mean, why live action?. That's the one anime series I can honestly say anybody can like, even if they aren't fond of anime in general, it's classy and has great art (good soundtrack as well, check out "tank"). I...but...Just...:sigh:...

One on hand, Shinichiro Watanabe, Kenji Uchida, and Keiko Nobumoto have signed on as associate producers and Watanabe has gone on record as saying the live-action movie will occur within the show's continuity, like Knockin' On Heaven's Door did.

This bodes well for the movie.

On the other hand, casting Keanu Reeves as Spike kind of dooms it to be a flaming ball of suck. I think the other casting choices on the Youtube video were wishful thinking from somebody who ought to be slapped about the head and shoulders.
