Critters

Is he a pure breed or a Dane/St. Bernard mix???? We had one of those and he weighed 225lbs!!!

Pure bred Harlequin Great Dane, he tips the scale around 165 lbs. Thinks he is a lap dog, a gentle giant. But watch out for that tail!

Sunning itself in my stonewall back stock pile.

tis the season... surprised we haven't seen any in the back yard yet. Did have a good-sized garter snake slither past the sliding back door and launch my wife & the cats the other day, but nothing bitey so far.

We have several garter snakes in the gardens, and they always make my wife yell and jump. Here is one that was sunning himself.

Its a large as it looks! The main support strands spanned at least 30', and were up in trees a good twenty feet above the driveway on either side.
Then I turned around and ran headlong, face first, into one equally its size, across my face and head, like a hair net. The spider was in that one.
There was a bunch of hand to face rubbing, and fluffing of hair, and all kinds of spastic gyrations.

good morning, Mike, welcome to tuesday.

I saw a comic on TV once years ago who observed something to this effect.
Ever see someone, a long distance away, run into a spider web? From a distance, it looks like the person suddenly went insane! [comic flails spastically to demonstrate]

I somehow lost all of my cropping. I think picasa stores stuff someplace else

You understand the concept to which I have eluded.

Gave me the creeping willies, and thats not easy. The spider was one of those garden spiders that start small, and by Halloween, they get to scare the crap out of you big! A friend of ours got us into calling them Summer Spiders.
This guy was not that big, but, seeing him that up close, it looked bigger than I wanted, as I was sipping my mornings beverage.

Note to self: NEVER, EVER, go to Fallbrook
