I'm skeptical of the woofers on these Dahlquist dqm-3 speakers. Look legit to everyone else?

While I am a HUGE Dahlquist fan I would take a pass on those.

They've been refoamed poorly and while the Fifa tweeters are quite good you're starting out in negative territory.

Find a pair of M-905s

Dahlquist speakers are really quite nice and the better ones command top dollar but given that m-905s sell for about a c note and will really outshine the 903 I'd wait.

Keep your eyes peeled, you'll find a pair.

Looking at the woofers somebody attempted and complete a poor refoam. If you can put power to them before buying I would do so just to make sure no rubs are present, my advice. Offer less based on the poor refoam.​

There are some advent utility cabs on my local CL as well.

I'm using a Kenwood Ka-3500 paired with a Sanyo TP-626. Good solid state, not a massive amp though.

Missions and KEFs are the way to go if I'm looking for something now?

Not too worried about upgrading later, I just want decent speaker for the now.

I'd venture to say that the Missions and the KEFs in the ad I sent will outperform the Advents even though the Advents are a very respectable speaker.

Go listen to them first before judging. If there is no rub, which is very easy to detect, then it's probably a successful refoam. Most likely just cosmetic. Can't judge just from some pictures. (Note: I'm going to check these out)
