What step down voltage transformers are people using in the US for their DP-80s? What wattage rating is recommended?
Anything I can order easily on Amazon?
Edit: Just bought this one. Seems to have good reviews for stereo components: quiet, runs cool, etc. I like the front panel on/off switch too.

Just checked tracking on my DP-80 coming from Japan. I bought it on June 2nd and it's already cleared customs and has left the FedEx facility in Tennessee on its way to TX, will be at my house tomorrow supposedly. I'm really surprised how fast it got here!
As I mentioned earlier, the arm it comes with (SME SIII) isn't long enough to allow me to install the tonearm lift I want to use for end-of-record-side auto tonearm lift up. I've been trawling eBay all week looking for slightly longer tonearms with slightly smaller mounting bases than the SME's and their giant oblong base they use. I wound up getting smoking deals on two different arms. I'll post pics and details when the arms get here. Not sure which one I'm going to use yet but with the deals I got I'll be able to recover quite a bit of my investment with the profit I should get from selling whatever I don't wind up using.
I'll post pics tomorrow of the hopefully uneventful unboxing as well as pics of my before and after plinth cleanup and dustcover polishing efforts.

You should be good with the 120/100vac xformer you bought. Got mine from the same place, though slightly different.

Has it been serviced? On the one I opened up the foam ring meant to retain oil had disintegrated, and the bearing was drying out.

Am sure Mark meant "retain oil" rather than "retail oil". After Mark's service my DP80 is rock-steady and noise-free.

No I doubt it's been serviced, it's coming from a giant electronic reseller in Japan from an eBay purchase, they said in the ad "The unit has been thoroughly tested by our professional technician and works perfectly." but honestly I'll be happy if it makes it here in one piece. The plan is to remove it from the plinth, then clean it and separate the platter to install new foam right away. I bought some foam weatherstripping that someone else used on their DP-80 (either here or on Vinylengine, I forget), they said it was just the right size and worked perfectly for them. I'm not familiar with the oil retaining foam, hopefully that's not a common issue.
I'm hoping I don't have to send it out to get serviced, as I've spent about double what I had planned to already. I probably will get it serviced at PBN eventually, but it would be nice if it would work for me for a few months while I recover from this round of spending
Fingers crossed that it gets here safely and performs well after the foam replacement.

This is what got here today from Tokyo. Clearly not a giant lead lined plinth with a massive turntable motor.
So the tracking number on my eBay purchase history shows the item has been delivered. Hopefully this is just a mix-up and they aren't doing this to screw me over, they seem to have a pretty great history of feedback that goes way back.
I reached out to them over eBay saying I didn't get the right item, hopefully they reply and make it right. We'll see I guess.
I payed with PayPal credit. I don't even know what to do if they just ignore me or tell me to pound sand. I tried to activate the steps on my eBay purchase history for this item to say I didn't get the item as advertised and it's telling me I'm too early and to wait for it to get to my house.
Talk about having the wind sucked out of your sails. I was really looking forward to tearing into this project this weekend now I get to sit around pissed off and worried instead.

I just dug deep back into their feedback and found 3 other people saying they had been scammed, that they got a worthless item in a bubble mailer instead of an expensive piece of electronics. I feel like an idiot. I should have read all their negative feedback first. I usually do, I got excited and messed up. I hope I don't wind up paying $900 for my mistake.

Sorry to hear about this, my last two purchases went sideways. One was through Ebay where the package never left the post office that was 30 miles from my house. Seller would not assist, so I was forced to file a claim and Ebay refunded me my money.
You will be OK since it went through Ebay. The delay to get your monies back is the only real bummer.
From what you have written I would guess you bought from Unisound. I bought an SP 10 MK II from them and it was an excellent transaction. If Unisound was your seller you will be OK too. Remember Japan has a 10 hour time difference with us, so it takes a bit of time to get communications through and responded to.

I wish I had bought from Unisound, I'd probably be enjoying a turntable right now. They seem much more professional than the shop I bought from. I don't want to name names until they've had a chance to reply. I figure I'll give them till Monday night. I'll give an update if anything changes/progresses.
I hope it wasn't HiFiDo.
What's the problem with HiFiDo? They were once quite a reputable place.

Happy to report that I woke up to a full refund today. I requested it last night and it was sitting in my PayPal account this morning, zero argument from the seller. May have been an honest mistake on their part. I feel bad for them if they sent my package to someone else and they've had to refund my money, expensive mistake on their part. If anyone needs their curiosity satisfied feel free to PM me for the seller name. I don't want to post it publicly, don't want to smear them in any way if it was all just a mistake.
What a weird week in general. It's all left me feeling a little less excited about the whole project to be honest. The person I was hoping would build my plinth locally told me he's still building plinths but he doesn't want to make one for a DP-80, mass stacked plinths are "not fun to make"? He also said "veneering is no fun either". Hell of a position to take as someone who builds turntable plinths, but ok whatever, it's his prerogative I guess. I suppose he mostly makes hollow box plinths now. I know looking at his Facebook page he used to make some seriously nice, extremely complex mass stacked/constrained layer plinths as recently as last year. Strange but whatever, can't be mad at the guy.
I also bought a couple of nice tonearms as I mentioned earlier. One of them already got here (perfectly packed, in two days from London to TX!) now I'm wondering what I'm going to put it on.

I can certainly understand the disappointment, I had a long and protracted return of an Amazon table that just got completed. I also ordered a headshell for my Dynavector tone arm that the Post Office appears to have lost at a facility that was 30 miles from my house.
Stay the course, you have your funds back. Order a DP80 from Unisound and you will be fine I believe. You have the plinth builder lined up, you have the necessary arms needed, you got all the hard stuff done. There are enough DP 75 and 80 to choose from out there. Matter of fact there is one of our AKers who happens to have a very nice JVC TT81 in a Mexican Rosewood plinth for sale here on AK BT and USAM. That would be a nice table to choose also.
What you went though is certainly a set back, but you can still move forward. You did not lose your money, so in the end its an inconvenience but not a mortal blow.
Indeed........ Mister Pig has it right. The DP80 is a delightful TT, but there are several others. If I were in your position I would find something with a semi-auto arm (lifts at the end of play). There are any number of excellent TTs from Denon, Sony and others that meet your criteria. I found the ones that I've owned to do an excellent job with some fine cartridges. I still use a Dual 701 and find it be an excellent TT.
