DLK Model 1-1/2
1st gen - foam grilles, cast DLK emblem attached to bottom right corner of grill, woofers evenly spaced vertically, phenolic ring cone tweeter, round plates on back of cabinet
2nd gen - fabric grilles, "DLK/1 1/2" on horizontal strip across grille towards the top, woofers offset vertically towards the bottom of the cabinet, phenolic ring cone tweeter with guard over it, square plates on back of cabinet
3rd gen - "NEW DLK 1-1/2" - fabric grilles, small DLK logo on bottom right corner of grille, woofers evenly spaced vertically, soft dome tweeter, round or square plates on back of cabinet
"4th" gen - DOMUS model 2 - had a horn tweeter
There was also a Soundmates model (made by DLK) that was essentially a variant of the 1-1/2 design.
I've owned the 1st gen and 3rd gen as well as DOMUS 2 in the past. I preferred the 1st gen. The 3rd gen had a different style sound to them. I've never owned 2nd gen but they should sound pretty much the same as 1st gen.

Wow, thanks for the details. I had never heard of the Domus, but then came across a set today. Which generation are these?

From your perspective, in which way does the sound differ from the 1st gen to the 3rd one? I own the 3rd one (which is almost impossible to find) and I really like the sound. Maybe does the 3rd gen emphasize the higher and mid frequencies more than the 1st gen? Highs and mids are clear and sound great on my speakers with the soft domes mid ranges the "New DLK 1 1/2" have, which are either Peerless soft domes or Pioneer soft domes.
In my opinion, the midrange is awesome, great vocal reproductions, and the treble shines too. Tonality is pretty much spot on.

The soft dome tweeter is almost certainly an improvement over the phenolic cone tweeter. I can't say much about the details of the sound comparison anymore. While I did simultaneously own 1st and 3rd gen 1-1/2s, that was ~7 years ago. I gifted the 3rd gen to a friend ~6 years ago and sold the 1st gen about 3 years ago, so I am not equipped to do any new comparisons.

All Domus speakers are of the same "generation". Sometime, maybe mid 1980s, DLK was forced to stop branding its speakers as "DLK", and it switched to the "Domus" brand.
I don't even know how many different Domus models were made. I've never seen any catalog or advertising flier for them. I've owned Domus 2 and Domus 3 speakers in the past.
