Do speaker fuses affect the sound?

Dave. I have considered an extension amp but do not have knowledge in what type of set up would be best suited. My listening space is around 14x14 ft. I love the 950 as it has many plugin options . Also I would like to stay vintage and true to late 70s gear. I am a paid member but have not received an answer back from AK as to weather BT is still listing. Any help you may offer is well appreciated . Ledbailey

I agree that the fuses are generally installed to protect the tweets but not knowing other speaker makers specs my Kef 104ab set flutters hard enough to distort the sound if I boost them too hard...loud. So back in the day I installed the in lines to protect the base from self destruct. Now many may say that could not happen but since these speakers move large volumes of air I thought it wise to install them 1.5 amp quality fuses .5 at the tweets and I did not notice any change in sound quality but another listener might. Keep your ears to the ground. Ledbailey

If you like how they sound, then it doesn't matter. If you remove the fuse from the signal path and it dramatically improves the sound, then it was worth the work - as long as you like the new sound.

If the fuse is inside the amplifier's feedback loop, it would have no effect at all on sound quality. Outside the loop, yes.
