Dont try this at home - somewhat graphic

not to worry, what you saw was not crust but neosporin left over from the previous bandage and i got a tetinus in the ER as well. so far no signs of infection, they put me on a 10 day regiment of antibiotic just in case. thanks for your concern, but i dont feel i deserve it as i'm really starting to enjoy the extra time off.

Hey Dingus

Sounds like it was the keystoned cops at there finest over there :lmao:

After getting your arm sliced and diced, your buddy drops it on his pumpkin head :lmao:

Sounds like something that would happen around my place

Simple plans go to hell in a hurry

Been there done that, glad it wasn't too serious :thmbsp:

Enjoy the time off, chase the wife around the house for a while. :naughty:

Same here!
How many times have I been doing something and have a thought pop into my head, "Gee, should I be doing this a different way?" and within seconds - disaster! Seems like I was in a hurry every one of those times...

Should "in retrospect" be a new thread, it seems most of us have one or two of these. I certainly am not embarrassed to ad, "in retrospect" I would have done it differently.

Hi Dingus,

I hope you recover soon, looked like a pretty awful experience. I do have a comment. I hope the edges of your wound are well aproximated (sutured close together and edge-to-edge). There seems to be a lot of crusty material there on the right side of the wound, that would have oozed a little after the suturing? If so, you still have some leakage and would do well to keep that cleaned off and maybe covered with some Neosporin ointment for a day or two until it finally seals. Only after its stays dry can you leave it to air out, of course keeping it clean.

I've sutured a lot of similar wounds in my day, the tough ones are the curved incisions like yours. Hope your tetanus status is now up to date.

Good luck.

I am glad the doc responded to this 'cause I was thinking the same thing. Keep an eye on that, the wound edges look a bit "angry" and not totally approximated.

Is it just me, or it seems like the sutures didnt close the gash?? was the doctor inebrieated?

they're closed alright. i dont have any complaints, looks fine to me. maybe its just the way the pic turned out?
